BBC Sport understands West Ham manager Alan Curbishley will not be sacked, even if the club are relegated. The Hammers lost to Tottenham on Sunday and are bottom of the Premiership, with only one win in 12 games since Curbishley took over in mid-December. He admitted after the weekend defeat he would not be surprised if he was axed. But BBC Sport's Garry Richardson has been told by a "well-placed" source at the club that chairman Eggert Magnusson wants Curbishley to stay. "My source at the club says that they will stick with Curbishley," Richardson told BBC Radio Four's Today programme. 606 DEBATE: Your views on Curbishley's future "I've been told that new chairman Eggert Magnusson is in for the long haul and wants Curbishley by his side." West Ham are 10 points from safety, with nine Premiership games remaining, and it seems more likely that there will be a player clear-out in the summer rather than a change of manager. "There is a feeling among some board members that Alan Curbishley has inherited some players with the wrong attitude and they will be sold in the summer," added Richardson. "Curbishley will be given funds to buy. I was told there will be a major overhaul at the end of the season."

Exactly, its not his "team" so to speak. Don't think West Ham would be stupid enough to let Curbs go? Good manager.

To be honest its certain players piss poor attitude which is the main cause of our problems. Got to feel sorry for Tevez watching his hard work being undone by useless defenders who seem hell bent on conceding goals. Be glad to see the back of certain billy big bollocks at the club, bring in some players with some actual pride! Still don't think Curbs is the right man for the job though. He is clouded by his "favorites" and refuses to play certain people because of stupid fallings out. If Noble gets dropped for Reo Cokers return it will be a travesty!

I feel sorry for Curbishley, and for Tevez, he worked like a dog on Sunday for that team. Shame the rest of them could not say the same (Konchesky, what a fucking waste of space).

Curbishley is a good manager, its clear West Ham need a sort out of the squad weither or not they go down, they are carrying too many players with big ego's at the minuite.
Anyone think they'd be able keep Ashton if they went down?

After the way we stood by him and paid all his wages all season while he was injured, I'd be very pissed off if he betrayed us by moving on!
