After playing in a group last summer that might have been the World Cup's toughest, the U.S. will now face a similar challenge.
The United States will play Argentina, Paraguay and Colombia in the first round of this summer's Copa America, soccer's championship of South America.
The Americans, invited as a guest, are in Group C and open June 28 against Argentina in Maracaibo. The United States plays Paraguay on July 2 in Barinas and Colombia on July 5 in Barquisimeto, according to Wednesday's draw.

lol ;D if it's in Colombia you have no chances (I dont remember if Maracaibo was there or on Venezuela), cos argies will be first, Paraguay are difficult to win in a single match and Colombia would have great support. And one of the best american defenders, Perea. maybe next world cup ;D

Agüero isnt that good, he scores a great goal and sleeps for 3 matches. I wanna see Gago being the chief

Agüero is a great player, he just needs more time on the field and less heating the bench and gago looks like a little girl

all I remember is that we sent a joke of a team to Copa America last time around , beat Argentina 3 - 0 and came in tournament 4th ....

wow! I didnt know that ;D but Argentina is always Argentina. Anyways, US has chances. I liked it a lot against Italy, but the previous match against Czech Rep was shit. They look like they can face the argies or lose 5-0. Too hard to predict

Columbia always promise so much and then are disapointing. Think USA have got a good chance against them.

tough group. I think we'll be fourth in this group honestly. Argentina is good enough to come in first, Paraguay is a bit unstable but imo they have a good team and the US have a good team too. they've invested a lot of money on football (although they still don't know the real name of the game) and they surely want to make up for a disappointing performance in Germany. imo it'll be very close between Paraguay, Colombia and USA cos they're too unpredictable
btw. did you see Venezuela's group? it's a joke. it was all fixed

I'd say if we play as good as we did in the 2nd half against Mexico then we have a good chance of getting out of the group round.

That's an easy group. Brazil's group is much more difficult. Mexico, Ecuador and Chile. I'd love to have got Paraguay or Colombia.

Both groups are really tough but Venezuela's group is ridiculous....... Hey do you know if Dunga will ever put Ronaldo on his team? he's still better than Sobis and Adriano and Fred together.... seriously

I'm happy with Fred. Don't forget Ricardo Oliveira, Nilmar and Liedson as well.

why leave apart one of best football players just cos he wont play the next world cup in 3 years? that's a great waste

I just don't get how his time is past. he's only 30 and still one of the best strikers in the world(if not the best). I hope he can play the next WC, he'll be 33, that's not being old is it?
anyway I just hope Colombia makes it through the quarter finals and meets someone off Venezuela's group. We have some decent players but they can't perform as a team, I hope our new coach can make it happen.
I wish to see another epic final between Argentina and Brazil like in 04. although I wouldn't be disappointed if Colombia reaches the final, of course it's just a dream
