Tottenham's next Uefa Cup opponents Feyenoord have been excluded from this season's competition. Uefa has banished the Dutch club after the crowd trouble during their match in France against Nancy on 30 November.
The group stage game had to be stopped for half an hour because of trouble in the stands as Feyenoord trailed 3-0.
Feyenoord were set to play Tottenham in the last 32 knockout stage of the Uefa Cup and Spurs must wait to see if they now get a bye into the next round.
A Uefa spokesman said: "We have not decided what will happen with Tottenham and whether they will receive a bye or play the fourth-placed team from Feyenoord's group."
Feyenoord had originally been fined £81,000 and handed a suspended sentence to play two matches in an empty stadium.
"This is a huge slap in the face for the club," said Feyenoord financial director Onno Jacobs.
"It will have enormous consequences, both sporting and financial. We'll lose ticket receipts, TV rights and the possibility of progressing in the competition.
"Our true supporters are the real victims of this decision. They are paying the price for the faults of individuals who have nothing to do with the club and from whom Feyenoord has always distanced itself."
The decision was taken by Uefa's independent Control and Disciplinary board, but European football's governing body appealed the decision for a harsher punishment.
"The appeal by Feyenoord against the original punishment handed down by the Uefa Control and Disciplinary Body was rejected," said a Uefa statement.
"Feyenoord were also ordered to contact Nancy regarding settlement of the damages."

My former boss was a huge and true Feyenoord supporter. He had a "Feyenoord room" with all those their stuffs in his house which was really great. I really feel sorry for him now.
We always had a fun on Monday morning after his team had lost a game... BTW, I thought Currian was for Heerenveen?

Court upholds Spurs' Uefa Cup byeTottenham have received a bye into the last 16 of the Uefa Cup after the Court of Arbitration upheld Uefa's decision to eject Feyenoord from the tournament. The Dutch side were thrown out of the competition after crowd trouble marred their group match against Nancy, but appealed against that decision. However, the CAS dismissed the appeal and fined Feyenoord £40,000. It means Spurs, who will lose out on gate receipts and TV money, go through to a last 16 match with Parma or Braga. The away leg of the tie will be held on 8 March, with the home return leg on 15 March. Spurs manager Martin Jol said: "I said before that we were happy to play anywhere and any time in the Uefa Cup because we want to play in Europe. "The decision allows us more time to work on the training ground though. "We've played a tremendous amount of games in all competitions in the last three months so it's an advantage for us to have a little rest and spend some quality time on the training pitch." And Uefa president Michel Platini also welcomed the decision, saying: "I am very happy. "This sends out a strong message that acts of violence by fans within the game will be heavily dealt with and punished by the relevant authorities. "Recent tragic incidents have shown that we must work together to eradicate all forms of hooliganism or violence from our game." The match at Nancy was suspended for more than 30 minutes after the French side had gone 3-0 in front, with Dutch fans trying to smash the glass barriers in the stands and throwing seats at stewards. "We must accept this decision," club director Onno Jacobs told the club's official website, www.feyenoord.nl. "But it is strange that our club and our real supporters are victims of the misbehaviour of people we have nothing to do with. This is a very heavy punishment." Spurs have revealed that tickets bought for the Feyenoord home tie will be valid instead for the home leg of the last-16 match, with full refunds available.
