Just thinking....
We've lost Bergkamp, Campbell, Pires & Cole and are without Senderos, Clichy & Diaby for the first couple of months at least.
We've effectively replaced these 7 players with Tomas Rosicky.
Anyone else see a potential problem here?

But I think we have some great young players that would otherwise not get much of a chance in the league, so it'll be good for them if Arsene gives them a go in the first team IMO. Hopefully Traore, Bendtner, Walcott, Song... Will all get a good chance and show what they can do. I'm just praying it wont be another 'transitional' year for us On a side note... When is Ralph coming back?

Song is shit, why do i have a feeling he's gonna be another Cygan, but in midfield?
we need a DL, DC and possibly a MC (Diaby is out, Gilberto sucks, Song and Flamini are poor backups)--would love to see Baptsista

But last season I saw exactly what Wenger sees in him. In the CL he was our most solid player in the latter rounds, no doubt... Fabregas' brilliant season was thanks in no small part to him. Never thought i'd say it, but he's quality Haven't seen enough of Song yet myself, and let's face it, neither have you, so jury's out on him for now.... Still, a centre back and a left back would be pretty sweet to add in, especially with Clichy being as injury prone as he seems to be

From reports I've heard Song played fantasic last Tuesday, he's very strong and he is only 18 FFS! Arsene obviously rates him, so who are we to argue? ;D
Its clear we need a CB who can also play on the left, and a DM... And I reckon (hope) Arsene will sign a CB before August is out.

what pisses me off is that AW has money to spend, but he wont use it!!!
AW is a great manager. But in the past he has replaced the likes of Wiltord, Anelka, Petit, Overmars, etc with all quality players
but recently we've lost Pires, Bergkamp, Vieira, Edu, Campbell etc and he hasnt done shit
yeh i know we have the best young players in the Prem, but we need experience too. that's why we suffered last season, only 1 player was brought in: Hleb
is Wenger really going to make the same mistake again?

Liverpool not a threat - Mourinho
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says Arsenal and Manchester United will provide greater competition for his defending Premiership champions than Liverpool.
Mourinho's captain John Terry has tipped the Reds to run Chelsea close as they go for a third successive title.
But the manager said: "I still believe United and Arsenal will be the biggest threat. They will be the better teams.
"I say that because of the quality of their football, the way they play, the improvements in their squads."

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has bolstered his attack with the arrivals of Craig Bellamy and Jermain Pennant, but Mourinho remains unconvinced.
"Liverpool are different. They are very competitive, it's very difficult to beat them," he said.
"If they score a goal before you score it's very difficult to change it because they defend really well with 11 players very, very compact.
"They are tactically very good and they are potentially fighting for the front pack but I still fancy more the way Manchester United and Arsenal play football."
Mourinho is impressed by the summer purchases of both Arsenal and United.

"United will improve a lot by having Michael Carrick. He's a very, very good player and he will improve them," said the Chelsea boss, currrently in the US with his team on a pre-season tour.
"Arsenal have a very good group of players, and some young players with great motivation.
"Tomas Rosicky is also a very important player for them and can bring them the kind of quality - I don't want to compare him to Dennis Bergkamp because he was more than special - but Rosicky can bring that kind of quality to the left side."

O'Neill to be named as Villa boss Martin O'Neill is about to be unveiled as Aston Villa's new manager. Villa have called a news conference for 1830 BST on Friday to announce David O'Leary's replacement, and it is widely expected to be O'Neill BBC Radio Five Live's Pat Murphy reported earlier on Friday that "all things being equal he will be named as manager later today". O'Neill has been out of football since leaving Celtic in 2005 to look after his ill wife, Geraldine. Her health has improved and O'Neill now seems ready to take charge of Villa in time for the club's pre-season tour of Germany and Holland which begins on Saturday. The Northern Irishman, who spent the summer as a pundit for BBC Sport at the World Cup, will join a club in a state of uncertainty. There are four consortia - led by American billionaire Randy Lerner, lifelong fan Michael Neville, deputy judge Nicholas Padfield QC and Sven-Goran Eriksson's agent Athole Still - all vying to buy out current chairman Doug Ellis. All have reportedly approved the appointment of O'Neill and his backroom team of John Robertson and Steve Walford. "It's a coup by Doug Ellis if he signs the most charismatic British manager who's available," said Five Live's Murphy. "By my reckoning there are five different consortia interested in taking over Villa and I understand that all of them have O'Neill as their first choice. "So, it would make sense for O'Neill to get in there as soon as possible, look at the players on their three-game tour of Germany and Holland and then make assessments on them before the Premiership season begins in a fortnight. "And if all the personal and professional issues can be resolved today and O'Neill is delivered to a delighted Villa fan base then it will be interesting to see how much money Doug Ellis will hand to him before the transfer deadline on 31 August." O'Neill began his career at Shepshed Charterhouse before moving on to Grantham then Wycombe and finally Leicester, who he guided to four successive top-10 Premiership finishes and three League Cup finals, of which he won two. That got him the job at Celtic, where he won three SPL titles in five years and also took the club to a Uefa Cup final news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/aston_villa/5246190.stm

Many years ago he really played DC.... you completely missed my point, but nevermind In CM he always has a position SW, but many defensive midfielders can play this position in the game. In fact, not many has played this position as much as Ballack. Our best national player Chen Yang play in die bundesliga in Frankfurt and all of us cannot forget the incredible match when Frankfurt managed to stay in A after beating Kaiserlautern, as well as who played centre defender for FCK in that match

Arsenè Wenger has revealed he is not finished in the transfer market just yet as he looks to buy one or two experienced players.
In an interview Wenger claims that he is happy with the youth orientated set up but some experienced shoulders could just be what the club needs.
“I have a lot of faith in my young players,” he said. “You always feel you need experienced players but if you have too many, the younger players will not play. I try to find the right balance between the experienced players and the young players.
“We still have some experienced players out at the moment — Henry, Lehmann - but having said that I will still buy one — with experience. The target is one or two. One certainly.”
When asked if he was in the market for a centre back or left back Wenger replied. “It is a possibility,” he said to both, giving nothing away as usual.

Don't trust Simon Hill's prediction one bit, all he had to say was City won't beat Chelsea. Will he shut up?
