I just got in the door and my ears are still ringing. That was an awesome night! i'm too tired and still shaking to write a full review so all i will say is that i had a great time. The Set list was Fuckin' In The Bushes Turn Up The Sun Lyla Bring It On Down Morning Glory Cigs and Alcohol The Importance of Bieng Idle The Masterplan Songbird A Bell Will Ring Acquiesce Live Forever Mucky Fingers Wonderwall Champagne Supernova Rock'n'Roll Star encore: Supersonic The Meaning of Soul Don't Look Back In Anger My Generation the hairs on the back of my neck stood up for masterplan and don't look back in anger. btw was it me or did noel's voice sound a bit weird tonight? it sounded high pitched for some reason. He looked a bit disinterested at times, with his back to the stage for long times, but he got into it near the end. Did anyone catch what he said when mentioned coming to toronto for the second time? THe best part had to be when zak came on stage alone and started playing the drum beat for supersonic, in the dark. The band came on about 30 seconds later and the crowd went nuts. Actually the crowd was crazy loud the whole concert. I think i was getting high on second hand weed smoke in my section. The knob in front of me kept whistling in my damn ears... i wanted to slap him. that kid in front got lucky with the tabourine. And those four girls that got to go on stage at the end are probably going to get fucked tonight (if they are legal age that is) the fat one looked a bit young. They got so much shit too - drum sticks, towels, another tambourine, water bottles. And i didn't realize so many hot girls were going to be there Shame i didn't see anyone from the forum there. I think i saw someone in a green live4ever shirt but i'm not sure who it was. The arctic monkeys were good too. I don't think they were quite ready for such a big gig yet. But all their songs sounded the same - it might as well have been one long song. i need to rest now and take it all in ;D ;D

awesome gig! fuck for the monkeys were amazing, wish i could see them tommorow cos they didn't play mardy bum in their short half hour set, among other favourites. their sound was a perfect replica of their studio work, amazing stuff. liam and gem (and apparently noel, though I didn't see him) were on the side of the stage watching them for their full set, as were they for Oasis' set. my eyes kept shifting over to them and they were constantly staring back directly at me... waved and exchanged some V's with matthew alex and andy. fuck they seemed like a hilarious bunch. Hope to see them again sometime.
Oasis were great too. Only complaint being the obvious and that's knowing the setlist in advance, but that's my own fault I guess... Supersonic was heavenly. The Starkey drum intro got everyone going crazy. DLBIA was possibly the highlight I think though. Masterplan was great but I wasn't as captured by it as I'd hoped. To be honest every song seemed great, I don't think I missed a single lyric by either band. My Gen was cool with the lights on, and everyone seemed to love it; it was funny to watch those girls as liam taunted them by putting his tambourine on the floor in front and pointing at it, as if they could easily climb on and grab it. I guess he was surprised when they actually went for it and he had to pull them up. Was funny when they huddled around noel and he looked over at Sarah as if to say 'what the fuck'. i loathed those girls, seemed like the typical annoying toronto princesses; their dancing to MG epitomized the likely hatred I'd have for them if I met them. likely I'm saying this all out of jealousy though since they managed to go backstage.
Liam and Noel seemed relatively chatty (in comparison to their usual selves); it was cool when noel dedicated dlbia to man city after commenting on all the jerseys etc. hed seen and pointing at that fat bloke in around section 108.
All in all, great gig, great night, probably enjoyed it more than their show in June. Can't wait to see AM again and Oasis once they make some set changes for the next tour.

hilite was the CROWD. FULL HOUSE all the way to the rafters (20,000!)!!!!
supersonic was amazing, having zak out there alone to start it was a great idea. i would say its the best u.s. gig i've seen after MSG. liam was spot on. i really think time between gigs helps, the boys were in top form, no bullshitting with the crowd, just straight-ahead rock n' roll. vintage oasis, i was proud to be a fan tonight. i wish all of you could have all been there. they still got it!
on to milwaukee!

CaperingKlown,
those girls at the end kinda put a damper on the last song, but noel seemed to be ok with it.
of course, liam created the whole scene - and then ran away for noel to deal with. for those that weren't there, you didn't miss a damn thing. girls weren't exactly pam anderson.

So I guess the Supersonic reaction will continue. Thank the Brazilian crowd for including Supersonic in the setlist

ya, those damn heffers they let on stage kind of messed things up at the end. noel didn't seem to impressed, just kind of smiled. as for what noel was saying....it was there second time in this city for the same tour, he kind of emphasised how long they have been going on this tour for. funny when he devoted DLBIA to the man city fans, and pointed out that fat kid in the left stands with the blues shirt. as for the vocals....they never did correct Noels mic. thats why it sounded so high/awful. They eventually got to Liams late in the show....after he had complained to the techies all show. SOUND WAS BRUTAL, but i expected that being in the arena. Playing The Masterplan for the first time ever in Toronto was cool. Overall, they basically did another "greatest hits" performance.

So is this the "official" north american tour's setlist? Because I will die and go to heaven if they play all those songs in Cinci.

Great show. I don't know which was better, the Amphitheatre gig or the one last night. I agree with Mape, all the songs by the Arctic Monkeys sounded the same. There were only two or three that really stood out to me. They certainly didn't convince me that they're the next big thing.

What is up with letting girls up onstage?! They didn't do that at any East Coast shows I went to on this tour! MSG, Philly, ATN & NJ...Nada. I'm miffed!

20,000 screaming people, 19,000 of which are probably intoxicated, are awaiting another night spent listening to familar sounds; they are the sounds that solaced you when the one you loved left with the one you hate, the sounds that put a swagger in your step when you kicked open the door on a sunny afternoon, walking to the sound of your favorite tune. Indeed, those sounds were the soundtrack to our lives, all of our lives, and that's what brought us here; standing before them, giving them the applause they deserved on a stage that they knew was always theirs. They earned it 12 years ago when they came into our world with a sound that brought us up to our feet, and on this night they do the same. The brothers Gallagher, a man named Gem, a boy named Andy and the son of a Beatle; they take to the stage and the music begins, and from the opening chord, we are lost again. From those first words, Liam Gallagher need not said anything else; all he needed to say was 'I carry the madness, everywhere I go', and 20,000 people would do the rest. But he sung, and he sung massivly; his voice was as strong and distinct from the first time we ever heard 'Live Forever', the best voice of his generation. For over 90 minutes, a star was crossed with the sun, and we beared witness to the supernova; you put your arm around your best mate, and fuckin' 'ave it. You sing, you stomp, you dance, and sometimes you cry. A song like 'The Masterplan' can be heard a million times, but when you hear those words 'we're all part of a masterplan' right before you, it makes so much more sense. The new songs are classics, able to stand alongside the giants that came before them; 'Idle' makes you smile with it's wit, and 'Lyla' can help but make you scream out 'the world around us makes me feel so small'. These were the songs that did so much, and on this night, they did so much more. 'Wonderwall' breaks my heart every time I hear it; those words, every single one, exemplify a feeling you try to keep inside, that you need to be saved, and only someone can do it. Where 'Wonderwall' brings that feeling back, 'Champagne Supernova' was a sort of healing process; an entity that no matter where it is sung, its sung by everyone. 20,000 people singing at the top of their lungs 'the world's spinning around and we don't know why...why why why why?' suddenly doesnt make you feel so alone. We pushed from the 19th row of the stands to get to the very front, just to see and feel their presence; to be there, alongside the masses to take the lead when Noel need not do so during 'Don't Look Back in Anger'; quite possibly the greatest anthem of its time, and still 11 years later, whether it be in Knebworth or Toronto, everyone sings. The lights came on, and I guess this is where the irony sets. They played in front of countless sold out houses in their day, this tour alone has brought them to the hearts of more people in a live setting than ever before. We pay the money so we can see them perform, but they never get to see us; they hear us, they feel us, but they never see our tears or our smiles or faces at once. Whether it was a glitch, or chance of fate, they got to see our faces; 20,000 people in a state of elysium, thanking them for doing their job, so we can feel alive and know that we're not alone. They got to see the colour in our eyes as we said goodbye one last time. They needed not say a single word that night, but they did, and they took us there and brought us back; indeed, the jury might always be rigged, but we know the truth. We believe their truth; we believe in them. in other words, the Toronto show was quite good.

I just got back from Canada... what an amazing time. I need to take a nap... what a wild night.
Euphoria... absolutely worth the 5 hour drive and staying overnight.
Oh, and Britlove and I met Chris Martin! Yeah, really... she's got the photos to prove it. They must have got a really quick flight over from Cleveland after their show here yesterday, but we went over to the bar at the Soho hotel on a tip from our cab driver who said he saw tour busses there hoping to meet the boys. Turns out the busses were Coldplays and they arrived at the hotel about 1230 or so, accompanied by 2 big black guys as bodyguards (who were complete assholes, by the way). It was super dark in there, and I didn't get a good look at him, and there was a serious arguement as to if it was actually him... I thought he looked too short and his hair was too long. But when he got up to walk out of the lobby, and walked right past us, we knew it was him. Anyway, Britlove will show you the pics when she gets back, but Chris offered her tickets to their show in Toronto on Wednesday, and she's decided to stay (I have additional plans for the week, Thursday in Indy being only one, or I might have stayed too, but I'm nowhere near the Coldplay fan that she is).
While waiting for her I visited the CN tower... I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Toronto. We hung out at the Irish Embassy, met Zuno, Stomko & his buddies, Kevin and his wife from the Klipper (ATN), and a bunch of other Oasis fans and 'ad it mega before the show with big pints of Stella and singalongs.
The show was... just beyond words. I almost cried at the end. The Masterplan was beautiful... CS was particularly good and Wonderwall was performed really well too. Supersonic, even though it wasn't a complete surprise, put us all through the roof. Just an amazing feeling when Zac started in on the drums, solo on stage for the first encore, then everyone came out, and the feeling of craving the first riffs while the drums were pounding was just immense. Andy played keyboard along with Jay D for Songbird, which we all thought was cool. DLBIA was once again a religious experience shared with 19,000 of my closest friends.
What a night. I'm exhausted from driving, can barely lift my arms, my knees are weak from jumping, and my voice is gone. And I'm going to do it all again on Thursday ;D

Hey Castle, was that you on the floor noel pointed at before DLBIA? The one jumping around like mad in ManCity Blue? I dunno if he pointed at me or not... there was me and another guy wearin city blue, I was in the 9th row and that guy was in the 4-5th row, closer to the aisle. I was dead in front of Liam and he was quite a bit closer to Noel I think, so it was probably him. I was jumping around like mad though, im sure the people in the upper levels were laughing at me

I find they never get the volumes right in toronto especially with Noels mic for backing vocals. Noels mic level got better at the end though! Other than that I thought it was a great gig! Highlight obviously had to be the Supersonic extended intro! I thought they had to get rid of My Generation as they have been playing it for so long but last night may have changed my mind (at least for this tour)
Anyway here is the e-mail I sent to Bookie from edge 102, prior to the gig, hoping he could fix the sound level
Still workin on it and thanxs I'll pas it along

Hey Bookie,
Haven't heard yet...are there any interviews with Oasis scheduled?
Also, if you have a connection make sure they have Noels mic turned up!! Always seems in To you can never hear him enough with the backing vocals. Only can hear him if he is singing solo. (Backing vocals are key!!)
Are you going?
Cheers!!

omg, i realy really wanted to go. there was not a doubt in my mind that the show was going to be fantastic! reading everyone's reviews on here really makes me jealous! ha ha! well thanx for sharing your experiences. june at the molson amp was great but i bet the ACC on monday was even better. i missed out huge this time!!! sounds like everyone had a great time. and girls got to go up on stage! i'm so so jealous! that sounds awesome. but i dont understand what people mean when they say they looked stupid? what were they doing? nonetheless, they can brag and say they got to go on stage at an oasis show! thats definitely something i cant say
