Well, not quite. went into town to get the single on all 3 formats and i could only get the single (and it was the last one)
I tried 4 major music shops and they were all sold out!
Which is a good sign i guess but if theres such demand, theyll be people who want to buy it but cant!

My question is this. I know the 'die hard' Oasis fans that have been built over the years are buying this naking it #1 in UK, but in reality is the song a hit or is it another chart topper because it's Oasis?
Before Oasis built it's fan base Supersonic,Cigs, Live Forever,Wonderwall etc didn't get to number #1 and they are all so much better than LTBL.
Is the song being played on radio a lot over in UK or will this be a quick drop from #1. I know it's a great feat but I'd like Oasis to get that #1 b/c so many people like it not just the massive amount of Oasis fans that are buying 3 copies each!!

Well surely the fact that theres so many Oasis fans buying it is good enough.
Oasis singles are the only ones i buy, purely cos theyre fuckin ace with mega b-sides.

surely this is making up for supersonic and live forever and the rest not getting to number one.... i have thought all along that LTBL is a worthy number one

I still can't believe TIOBI went to #1.
Does anyone think a 5th single will be released? I'm thinking Part of the Queue, but have no idea.

yeah it's not even too likely theat they release a 4th single and yer talking about 5, plus they've never released 5 singles from an album, at least not in the Uk

Wanking don't you think that the B-Sides are going downhill though, what with clunkers like The Quiet Ones, Pass me Down The Wine, and Sitting Here In Silence On My Own... I Won't Let You Down, and Eyeball Tickler were good though...

Umm personally i love pmdtw. think its amazing.
only shit ones are the quiet ones and shisomo.
But yeah, Oasis fans wil buy the single for the b-sides and to add to their collection. even if they are shit.
the other is for people who just think its a catchy tune.
Lyla and IOBI got to number one cos they were strong solid pop tunes with great videos. Their target audience was at the younger generation (not might have been intentially, but alot of young kids loved them)
This song however is more for the grown ups, who, are least likely to buy singles.

i've played DBTT when some friends where at my place shortly after its release and they were all making fun of me with my *obsession* ( ;D ) with oasis... and as usual saying that only early stuff (they can't even name columbia ) were good... at the end of the CD came LTBL... and they were like "see i've always liked that one!!!" LMAO ;D told them they were hearing it for the first time...from the new album mwuuuuuuuuuahahaaaaaaaaa

Yeah, I know what you're saying... there are a lot of us who would by an Oasis single even if it had a polka song for a B-side... what just sucks though is how much harder the singles are to come by for us die-hard fans in the states... and when you do find them, they cost an arm and a leg (usually between $10-15 bucks)... They have had so many AMAZING B-sides over the years, and they have raised the bar quite high when it comes to their B-side standards... I think we may have become a bit spoiled as Oasis fans, and when they do occasionally throw on a Silence or Quiet Ones we get disappointed. I mean, some bands would be so lucky to have an Eyeball Tickler, Idler's Dream or Round Are Way as a A-SIDE.
