With the exception of Eyeball Tickler, they're all pretty shocking.
I find that surprising given the quality of a lot of the HC B-sides, and anyone who's heard Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? can tell you that there are still fucking great tracks to be heard outside of the album. My question is where the hell are they?
I hope these 3/4 efforts were cast-offs from the beginning, and not serious contenders for getting onto Don't Believe The Truth, because if so Noel was talking out of his arse when he was talking about how many great songs they had to choose from.

I think Pass Me Down the wine is great, and Eyeball Tickler. The Quiet Ones, Wont Let You Down------not so much

What I find interesting is that Noel has said they're gonna put out a second collection of B-Sides, but almost all the recent B-sides are Noel sung acoustic tracks... They sound great, but they're too similar... There's barely any Liam sung B-Sides anymore... And even fewer rocker-type B-Sides (A la Fade Away, Headshrinker, It's Good To Be Free, Acquiesce)... I think it'd be a horribly boring record. And way lower quality than anything else they've put out... You'd also easily be able to tell when the song is from...

I put together a complication of B-sides since SOTSOG in iTunes; I can see why you'd think it would be a boring record but the standard is still pretty high.
I've got it laid out like this;
One Way Road Shout It Out Loud Thank You For The Good Times Full On Eyeball Tickler My Generation I Can See It Now Let's All Make Believe (As Long As They've Got) Cigarettes In Hell Helter Skelter Won't Let You Down Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? Idlers Dream (You've Got) The Heart Of A Star
OK so I cheated a little with Weight Of The World and the two covers, but if you can get past the 'lack' of rocky B-sides (there's still around 4 or 5 on this list) it's a quality set of tunes.
Of course, most of these songs came prior to DBTT, so my original point remains valid.

I'd buy that if Who put the Weight of the World is on it. And the Boy With the Blues might have a decent track on it, not to mention being albummed on this Masterplan2

The only DBTT b-sides I like are "Won't Let You Down" and "Sittin' Here In Silence (On My Own)". But that's just my opinion. I can definitely understand the mixed reviews.

I like all the B-Sides so far. Pass Me Down the Wine is cool, and so is Won't Let You Down. I hope they put a new tune on the B-Sides record, that would be awesome.

I like them all.
Some aren't as developed/produced. Still good songs.

I don't think the "they're only B-sides" argument holds water, because, as Noel himself said back in the day, it used to be that "Our B-sides are better than most other people's A-sides". And he was right. They were classic tunes. But they have begun to feel more than a little knocked off, I agree with supersonic. And technically you can't count WPTWOTWOMS, cos it hasn't been a B-side!
Eyeball Tickler - great, a fantastic rocking stomper Won't Let You Down - has actually grown on me and quite like it, still a Lennon nick though Pass Me Down The Wine - alright. An average tune, not great/not shit, but better than: The Quiet Ones - an absolutely nothing track. Short, middling, pointless (Sitting Here In Silence) On My Own - as above. Repetetive drivel. Noel would have slagged this right off back in the day.
WPTWOTWOMS - yeah, this is 2/3 of a great tune. Shame he wasted it on some poxy soundtrack!
The live version of RNRS I don't even count because I think they're a swizz as B-sides. And I also think it's a bit sad that if they have to a live version, it's from way back in 94. Why not do a live cut of A Bell Will Ring, or Born On A Different Cloud, or something more recent? It's lazy, for me.
I think the fact that everyone's saying "well you never know, The Boy With The Blues might come out and be fantastic" etc shows that after a great start with Eyeball Tickler the B-sides have been in general decline across this last set of singles.

Pass Me Down The Wine & Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders ? are the best singles of DBTT.

I love Pass Me Down the Wine and WPWWOMS. Won't Let You Down is good IMO. Eyeball Tickler is decent. The Quiet Ones and Sitting Here In Silence On My Own are nothing tracks to me, never really listen to them.

I would have liked to have seen Eyeball Tickler on the album and Meaning of Soul as a B-Side. Pass me Down the Wine is great, Wont Let You Down is tolerable. The Quiet Ones is definetely short, but it's no more a filler song than MoS.

The Meaning Of Soul at least has attitude and a killer harmonica solo. The Quiet Ones is a boring tune wrapped in half-arsed sentiment.

I still think the likes of sad song and round our way could be included, they were great b-sides which missed out on the first b-side album...theres no rule for them not to be included now. Also im sure you dont want too many covers but what about Cum On Feel The Noize?
