I'm going to have to say that of the hundreds of Oasis songs, this song did the least for me at first listen. I just don't think it is good. I'm sure I'll be back in a week or so apologizing and taking this back, but as of now, not impressed at all.
Anyone else???

I don't understand why are they are releasing this 'song'. Is Noel using Pro Tools to sing over some lost Lennon tapes or something?

Is it just me, or do parts of it sound a lot like Blowin In The Wind? That was my first thought... Then it was that the song is only meh...

Then it was that the song is only meh... yeah I liked the melody until I realized it was a total rippoff of blowin in the wind. with a borrowed melody, a 2 minute length, and a standard arrangement it has nothing going for it.

well, rip-off or not I like it a lot. Anyway it's not time to critisize Noel for borrowing stuff from other artists eleven years after DM if you don't like it then you shouldn't be a fan of this band, and good luck trying to find a totally original band these days, or even better, go and write a totally original song, try 6 albums... It's been posted on this board that great acts borrow from other great bands and it's ok. as long as you like a tune and feel it's near you it's alright. you won't care if it's a rip off or not.... Having said that, I'll say it for the second time that I like it. I like the vox, the electric guitar part, all in all it's a very nice song

it sounds like Noel playing around in his own studio. that said, i think it's listenable. anything noel does i pretty much like, its just as much the context as it is the song. if we'd never heard of noel or if oasis didn't exist, this song wouldn't excite me as much. not that i would use the word "excited" to describe my reaction to this one. its cool, but requires a few stellas to keep me for the whole two minutes.

Having said that, I'll say it for the second time that I like it. I like the vox, the electric guitar part, all in all it's a very nice song It's not that it's got a little riff or something borrowed (ie. Live Forever/Cigs and Alcohol style), it's that it just sounds the same in the chorus... Plus, I think it's a boring song. There's plenty of great Oasis songs, and plenty of them have borrowed bits here and there, and I like some better than others. This is one of the ones I don't particularly like. It's not the end of the world... As a side note, it took me probably 3 listens to figure out what it sounded like. It clicked right away that it sounded like SOMETHING I knew (and I knew it was something in a songbook I have), but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Then it hit me.

Its cool....kinda got a Sexy Sadie feel to it. Not Noel's best, but still pretty listenable.
