Oasis sounded amazing last night.
I've seen them 3 times now - ATL 2000 and MSG this year - and last night was the best I've ever heard them sound. MSG had a better atmosphere, but Liam sounded better this time.
They were quite funny. Liam dedicated Cigs and Alcohol to the smackheads, alcoholics, etc... Noel then said, "And the midgets too. This song is also for the midgets." Liam then had a laugh and also dedicated it to himself.
My lone complaint is the setlist. They dropped SCYHO, LBL, and Songbird. They have all of these albums and will only play stuff off of DM, WTSMG, and DBTT. What's up with that? They should play at least 1 song from each studio album.
All in all, it was a beautiful night. I felt like I had some sort of religious experience during Live Forever. It was mega.

Fantastic picture... hopefully I can get as good on Friday, I'll have to resort to my 1.2MP camera phone but I'll be in the front row too. I heard Blossom has a bunch of camera nazis too but not much they can do about the phones.

last nite was my first oasis gig ever and it was awesome!! my favorite was live forever and it was awesome when he said it was for new orleans...even my brother applauded and he hates oasis, lol. but he said the show was good. they did mess up once or twice on mucky fingers and champagne supernova, but it was nothing major. and i thought liam was gonna walk off stage coz it seemed he was gettin pissed at the sound guy...but he stayed and they joked around about it at the end and noel was like "you better respect that man." or something like that. i could not understand a thing they said, especially liam, between songs. i could understand noel for the most part...but liam was nearly impossible. but live forever and don't look back in anger were the best to me. but it is upset that they ignore three albums...they have some great songs they could play. anyways, sorry to ramble...but i'll never forget that gig...it was awesome!
- cheers !

Yeah, they did mess up briefly on Mucky Fingers. Liam walked off during Wonderwall and I assumed he was done, but he came back.

it was the drums he was pissed at, he paused during wonderwall and said "DRUMS DOWN" later walked off stage and Noel started singing. He did come back in good spirits though.

skineek....you said they dropped SCYHO....WHEN did they play it on the tour ?? if they added it only to drop it again that would suck they played SCYHO during the early part of the tour in May when the album hadn't been released yet. they should definetly play that one and THT from HC. those are very strong tracks especially live. you are so right saying they should at least play 1H45min since they have 6 studio albums and classic b-sides

I completely agree with tou kalas. if liam can't sing the whole 2 hours then noel should sing more of his songs or maybe even bring back the acoustic set. every single oasis fan loves his acoustic sets and I bet he enjoys them too

Kalas...have to agree with you a bit...as amazing as the gig was I went to last week, I have been a huge fan since '95...and this was my first time seeing them live. It would have been great for me to hear Supersonic...since I probably listened to that song a couple thousand times from '95-'97, and it is the song that got me hooked on Oasis. With a longer set...it would have surely been included.

I was there last night- towards the front and it was fooking MEGA. Liam's voice was strong and ON IT. (no doubt the Houston cancellation helped on that part - that would have made at least 4 or 5 days of rest) . He prowled the stage, leering and spitting, pointing at the audience.
Lots of funny banter, the sound kicked ass, & it was a good crowd.
At one point Noel said to an audience member... "You're from Manchester? You're really from Manchester? Cheetham Hill doesn't count!"
I agree with the previous post - Live Forever was transcendent. Everyone belted out DLBIA.
At the end of the show, Liam draped himself in a Union Jack with a tambourine (in his mouth or on his head- can't remember) - but it was hilarious/clownish.
I'm not complaining it was short, but when it was over, it seemed like 5 minutes had gone by. I went to sleep with a buzz in my ear, a buzz in my head, and smile on my face. (HA!)
