I think he'll get it back together. I thought he's sounded great at Manchester, MSG, V Fest, Benicassim were all great If that's considered good these days then we'll never hear the greatest voice of our generation live again. Sad .

I attended both MSG and Tweeter and was DELIGHTFULLY SURPRISED with what I heard... After hearing his voice on tons of boots from 2000-2004 (He hit ROCK BOTTOM at GLASTO) I didn't know what to expect... but IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, and ladies and gents this is just MY OPINION, at MSG Liam's voice was a 9 out of 10, two days later at Tweeter it was an 8... by this I mean Liam's voice THE WAY IT IS NOW. Liam's voice of 94-97 is GONE, it's NEVER COMING BACK. His voice now is deeper, more soulful, too be QUITE HONEST I don't know if Liam's OLD VOICE would suit some of the newer songs... (Songbird, Love Like A Bomb, Let There Be Love)... but I STILL SAY that it ALMOST sounds like the old Liam on 1) The very end of GGTIA, and 2) During the chorous of Keep The Dream Alive... but alas, this is probably due to some fancy board trickery...
The only two gripes I had, not rweally gripes, but... at Tweeter he didn't repeat the "Heyyyy Lyyyyyyyyla" part at the end, and during the bridge of Love Like A Bomb he didn't do the "Na Na Naaaaaaaa Na..." part.... BUT... that's NITPICKING... and I think THAT was from him being pissed at the soundguys, not from his voice crapping out... later on during Champagne his voice cracked rite at the very beginning "How many specail..." BUT... he was SPOT ON for the rest of the song!
C'mon Liam don't make a liar out of me at SI, YOUR PEOPLE WILL BE THERE WAITING TO SEE YOU AND YOUR BRO ONE LAST TIME... BLOW NY AWAY ONE MORE TIME!!!!

he always sounds better when your at the gig itself so i would disregard bootlegs as examples as usually the sound isnt of good quality anyway.i saw them at marley park and it had improved no end since i last saw them in 2003 when he was alot worse

i mean no offense to anyone who perhaps thought it was, say, great, but i thought his voice was totally appalling in seattle... and i am usually one of his biggest defenders. i've been to about 5 or 7 previous shows from 1996-2001 and really thought his voice was quite grand at all of those shows

@ the Hollywood Bowl, I thought his voice sounded great. I heard people say the same about Seattle, Shoreline, & particularly Vancouver. I think by the time they got to SD, his voice was just exhausted. Plus, Liam sings from the throat, not the gut, like most singers. So a lot of what you heard on the webcast was him trying to push it out from the gut because his throat was completely gone.
They shouldn't have done Inland Invasion. Obviously Liam was fed up, and most likely Noel as well. I'm guessing they did what everyone does in Vegas after their gig, drank/boozed/gambled, and then got on the bus for a 4 hour drive to some shitty Radio Festival on the outskirts of L.A. Saturday afternoon.
Noel seemed to really step up though. He's probably so in tune with Liam and his antics, that when Liam is drunk and in a shitty mood, he knows he needs to concentrate on his songs and the backing volcals. Mucky Fingers was really good on that webcast, and DLBA was friggin amazing. And his backing volcals on My Generation REALLY made that song solid!

I agree that Noel has really been singing quite well. His vocal on "shoulder" is epic and mucky live has really taken on extra life. Does everyone agree that he must hear how exasperated Liam sounds and if so why not throw in the acoustic set and make the necessary adjustments(agreeing w/ earlier post) instead of being so formulaic? I dont believe that he is punishing him for the soundcheck thing as he has not showed up for years. Anyway, Is everyone enjoying the new song "shoulder"? I cant get it out of my head and also think it sounds nothing like across the universe or any beatles song for that matter. But then again I feel and have felt for years that it is lazy journalism that says Noel just rips the beatles or the latest velvets = mucky fingers mentality. The latters chords have been done a million times before most recently by Razorlight(vice).I could rant on about this as I have done with musically ignorant friends and so called music critics. I hope this song gets its due and does not suffer the fate of the very underrated bside idlers dream(in terms of not reaching the masses).
