I just got back from Las Vegas in what has to be considered on of the most madferrit experiences anyone from the US can boast. I along with my girlfriend (also a die hard), calioasis and jilliam have just concluded a week long tour with oasis.
We started at Shorline , then the hollywood bowl, followed by San Diego and capped off at one of the more intimate shows any fan could ever experience in vegas.
This was the bookend to my summer of oasis. I started the summer in NYC and meeting them the day after MSG, followed them down to the Tweeter Center and ended it in Philly.
It will take a while to decide which experience was better. Oasis in the east coast or Oasis concerts on my home turf with all my people and all the kegs and alcohol.
We don't know when they will make it back stateside, 2008-9 perhaps. If you are trying to decide whether or not to go. Book your ticket. Book your ticket to see the best fooken band in the world. Forget about altruistic coldplay and U2. Oasis is the real deal.
I look back at it now and it was not about meeting liam or how close we were in the shows. It was just the experience of meeting new people and seeing them in the next gig and so forth. Going from city to city and knowing that later than nite we have a gig to go to.
We ran into this kid named luis from manchester who had no idea oasis was in town and he just happened to find out oasis was in town while he was visiting Las Vegas. He told us how no one would believe him if he told them that he got tickets to a concert in a 2000 capacity venue at the bargain price of 200 and how he stood in front of liam gallagher the whole time. He said he would give up one of his fingers for that experience on any given day and here he was experiencing that. Everyone was rallying for him to get his ticket for his hometown band. We were looking out for extra tickets for him.
there was guys from mexicali making a similar trek with an equal amount of passion.
In LA I had all my close friends singing, drinking hours before the hollywood bowl show with other new friends.
2005, it's summer will always stick out in our minds as well in our year end budget.

I want to see your pics! I was there too, I went all the way from Mexico just to the Las Vegas gig, and I think it was awesome, I had the best of times, a friend and myself were the girls with the mexican flag.
I would like to see the pics you have, 'cause I also took with my phone but they aren't as clear as I wanted them to be.

sounds like a great summer!..i did that back in the day...i saw them in birmingham ,newcastle,manc,london,glasgow,dublin..the gigs were great , and meetin all the different people made it worth the journey

Agreed. This is the kind of thing that makes life worth while. This summer will be one I look back on for years. I had the NY, Boston, Phili leg and I thought that would be it. I've added Baltimore(Front Row!), Cleveland, Across The Narrows and A.C. to my list. i wouldn't have it any other way.

My wife and I really can't afford it, but seeing as this may well be the last chance to see the lads until 2008, maybe 2009, maybe NEVER AGAIN... who knows?? I wanted to take advantage to see the boys ONE LAST TIME... NO REGRETS. ALSO, the PRE-MEET UP at Cargo's wouldn't miss it for the world! ;D |

hey me and my friend from Costa Rica we have the best time ever, on June for the MSG gig, the pre-meet up, and everything, we just want to go back, but right now its kinda hard for work, so well just have to wait, especial congrats to "noelliam77", i dont know if you remember us from the meet up, but i remember you, and when we saw you picture with liam, the first thing that comes up to my head was "you lucky bastard", well anyway, i will love to get in contact with you, to share experiencies and things like that, if you want let me know. see ya guys
