Can't beleive 'Fix You' only made top 4 I thought it was pretty good. Slipping in at Number 4 are the all-conquering Coldplay, fresh from spending the summer playing second fiddle to James Blunt on the album charts. The second single from 'X&Y' is the depressingly formulaic sounding 'Fix You' which with almost mechanical efficiency becomes their seventh straight Top 10 single. Has the backlash gathered enough steam to make it safe to admit they do nothing for me at all? Some guy named James Masterton said that. Spot on if you ask me.

x & y has sold alot more than james blunt A 4th place just goes to show that the album was overhyped.

Coldplay here in Tampa on Wednesday. Do I go? I am seeing McCartney Saturday Night.
Money is tight. Plus I am seeing the boys in Atlanta on the 27th.
Just not sure if I should go see Coldplay. I would if the money was flowing. Is it a good show?

Let's not get into a sales=quality situation here.
What the Fix You entry shows is that Coldplay have got into an almost unique situation of becoming one of the biggest bands in the world without building a hardcore fanbase.
It's not a reflection on quality, more a reflection on who Coldplay have been marketed to. I respect obvious genuine music lovers like Dominic and Step Out, but they seem to be in a minority of 'type' of fan who Coldplay have captured. It is obvious that Coldplay, or more accurately their management have exploited a very fickle market very well. Why buy the single when you can hear it on Radio 2 every hour?

first few times i played it i disliked it with a passion (apart from square one), THEN i really got into it and then i just stopped playing it all of a sudden. the live show is great, worth seeing but as for x and y...its a good album that youve just got to be in the mood for in my opinion.

TIOBI has today stayed in the Top 20 (20th) meaning 5 weeks in the Top 20 for the 2nd single from DBTT. I cant remember a single from any album since Morning Glory achieving this feat.
Is this due to the good reception for TIOBI from non-Oasis fans or is it a reflection on the releases from other bands in the past few weeks?
I believe it is down to people who wouldnt usually listen to Oasis digging this slightly different sounding single. Anyone have any sales figures to back this up?
