It's so easy for fans like myself to get blown away by new Oasis material. I'm always crazy for anything they release at first. SOTSOG I thought was the greatest thing ever. Then Heathen Chemistry I was blown away by even more. Both albums have there gems, but certainly looking back aren't up to DM or MG standard. It's kind of like going out with a chick you think is great. Then after a couple of months the novelty wears off and you start getting irritated by certain things. DBTT is marriage material.

DBTT isn't as good as I initially thought. The first three albums remain untopped. I'm not sure if I like DBTT more than Giants, but I do more than HC.

I agree with Kalas, DBTT is mega. It's definitely much better than SOTSOG and HC. I think it's even better than Be Here Now. It's easily their third best album so far.

this has by far been there best CD yet! theres not one weak song on it, everytime I listen to it I never skip one song. Even on DM and WTSMG there are songs that I skip (like only two at the most), and Mucky Fingers is by far my favorite noel sung song! (can't wait to see gem play harmonica live in sep.

i love the album as an album but i dont think it has any great singles on it. its very solid as a whole and easily their second best album. sadly, apart from let there be love there are no real stand out tracks on the album that define it. be here now as an album wasn't as good as dbtt, yet it had all around the world, stand by me, and dykwim on it which remind people of the album. revolver in a way is like that. if i would make a beatles compilation i probably wouldnt go for fuckin taxman, but as an album i would listen to it any day.

DBTT and I are going through marriage counselling at the moment. She wants me to quit seeing Bootleg and come back to her, but I need more time.

I think DBTT and WTSMG are the same in ONE aspect: they both have to be listened to from beginning to end, all the way through.
I agree with most, that DBTT is third on the list behind DM and MG... as for the DBTT anthem, I can't believe that everyone always points to LTBL and ABWR and not KTDA. I think that KTDA sums up what the album is all about... just listen to the chorous!

The album is incredibly strong lyrically and instrumentally. It's a different style, but I'd say it blows SOTSOG out of the water and destroyes HC.

WTSMG is my wife and always will be, although i am currently fucking DBTT. DBTT is pretty fuckin sexy and sexier than other Albums ive had on the side (BHN, SOTSOG, HC). Its tempting to leave WTSMG for DBTT but i know i never will...........so i will just have to keep DBTT as my mistress!!

MG will never run away from me, DM will never leave me, no matter how many times i fuck around with DBTT, and i'm fucking around a lot.

Still love it. For me it's still not as good as the creation years, but definitely the best offering this decade.
The thing for me is, I'll fancy putting on one song, then I'll think sod it I'll listen to another one, then another, and before I know it the whole album's been on.

I think my favourite is still Heathen Chemistry. I'm just bored of the first couple albums, and I've grown out of tracks I used to think were awesome (Hey Now, Cast No Shadow, etc.). And Be Here Now is too long. I've lost interest in Standing on the shoulder of giants aswell. Don't Believe the truth is good though, I'm sticking with it. It surprises me how much I like Lyla now aswell...

DBTT has been that girl from college that you wanted to date sooooooooo much but couldn't talk to her...Few years later , she turns out to be a " one night stand " and you're pretty dissapointed cause she looked much more sexy when you couldn't get her laid than now that you've noticed that her boobs are fake and that her ass is a bit as " Let There Be Love " ... Fat and a falling down
The 3 first LPS are jewels

Its there 3rd best,, its better that BHN in my opinion cause a rather listen to an album with no weak tracks than an album with four anthems, solid tracks and couple of weak tracks around them.

It's wierd enough that some people think that DM is better than WTSMG. But it is ridiculous not to think that KTDA is the best song on the record. It's the best Oasis song in the last 3 records easily!
What I really want to say is this. I was just listening to Best of You by the Foo Fighters on the radio in my car. I liked the song; it sounded great. It doesn't compare to some of the past songs like Everlong, but it still sounds amazing on the radio.
Here is my comparison. I think that if we were just normal music listeners, and we heard new Oasis material on the radio, we'd say to ourselves, "Hey I recognize that voice. Who is this?Hey this is Oasis. This song sounds really cool." We would be surprised and delighted having never expected to hear it. We could objectively enjoy the music and realize that although it is different from their past music, it is still excellent.
Since we've all anticipated this album, we are all biased with unrealistic expectations. I think that if you gave a copy of DBTT to a group of kids who had never heard of Oasis, they'd tell you the objective truth. This music kicks ass.
I don't think the album has "settled in." I think that it is still as great as the first time I downloaded all the leaked mp3s.

I happen to love it and find it one of the stronger tracks on the album. But the album does have many strong tracks so its hard to declare it the best. The Importance of Being Idle is the closest Oasis has been to their hay days. This is a great album

WTF ? It is diff. in the UK. and I realize you did not grow up in USA either mate. just a comment. Poof ! Tam

DBTT is far from being THE oasis album we´re waiting for since 1995... but, at least for me, it´s definitely their better since WTSMG... it´s clean, it´s solid, there aren´t weak tracks in there (ok, i don´t like KTDA, but it´s a lot better then the worst songs on BHN, SOTSOG and HC) and, the best news, noel finally stopped doing unnecessary songs (force of nature, little by little, roll it over); all his songs in the album are great and, more than that, shows that he´s going in new directions...
