Similar setlist to Hampden except they added Acquiesce, and changed the order around a bit. Can't remember exact order, but ti think he encore was Meaning of Soul, Guess god think I'm abel, Don't look back in anger and My generation. They moved Songbird and WOnderwall up the order.
Awesome gig, the sound was amazing and Liams voice was superb.
Can't wait to do it all again tomorrow !!!

Great gig last night
Setlist?
Turn Up The Sun Lyla Bring It On Down Morning Glory Cigarettes & Alcohol The Important Of Being Idle Little By Little Love Like A Bomb Acquiesce Songbird Live Forever Mucky Fingers Wonderwall Champagne Supernova Rock N' Roll Star The Meaning of Soul Guess God Thinks I'm Abel Dont Look Back in anger My Generation
Wished I'd written down all the onscreen wisdom that flashed up during The Importance of Being Idle. There are some great lines there.
Liam had the lyrics taped to the floor for Guess God Thinks I'm Abel, but didn't seem to be looking at them. Obviously Noel's comments in the press have got to him!
Crowd were in great voice, as indeed were the band!

Hope Acquiesce sticks around for the fall US tour. Does anyone know why ABWR has disappeared all of a sudden?

Some of the stuff from TIOBI from Hampden.... - If it doubt do nothing
- It's better to have Loafed and Lost than never to have Loafed at all.
- Why put off something till tommorrow when it can be put off till the day after.
- Imagination is more important than knowlage

So the security was shit then ? Fucking great, it better not be a repeat of Hampden cos that was a disgrace.
Is the stadium in a rough area ? Ive heard that it is, Hampden is in a rough part of glasgow too so i can only assume that its alot of the local neds that go and cause trouble, at least thats the way it seemed in Hampden

Gig was good. Sound was HORRIBLE. Super Furry Animals were rubbish, Stands were ok, lots of idiots chucking beer around, some poor girl got crushed and fingers crossed she's ok. The crowd carried a lot of the songs, though there were quite a few erms, and ahs, with regards to the new songs but Lyla carried the typical chorus. It was a great gig -- Liam was being his usual self, snogging a speaker, balancing a tamborine on his head and making his usual crazy comments. Noel seemed more subdued though I'd be more pissed off with the rubbish sound. Didn't matter though when you have 60,000 peeps grooving to Oasis. woooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bit of advice though make sure you eat before you get to the stadium if you're going on sat/sun as the typical rip-off prices are in place, watch out for the dodgy geezers selling dodgy merchandise, dodgy programmes (the genuine ones have a yellow front with the Don't Believe the Truth garage picture on the front) and general dodgy people. I was amazed to see how many neds there were in the stadium and further amazed to see how they'd manage to score hot looking lady-friends. Christ--is there any justice?! Anyway, great gig - if they sort out the sound, Sat and Sun will be heaven on earth. To quote Liam.... I'm a rock n roll star............ IN FUCKING MANCHESTER!

Great review Mrsharma - I was there too - almost right at the front for part of it (til it got just too rough in there and I had to escape) I agree on most of your points too - The Stands were alright, I think it was a big crowd for such a new-ish band and perhaps that intimidated them a bit cos all I remember them saying was 'Hello we're the Stands and we're from Liverpool' twice, once at the start and once at the end. The had some good, beatley sounding tunes though so I'm gonna look up thier album. I think SFA were good too - BUT - not really the suitable choice for a Oasis-rock-n-roll-lets-have-it-mad-fer-it gig, as they've alway been quite a chilled, laid back band and we needed a 'Come on! Jump up and down band!" I wish we had had The Redwalls who supported Oasis in Europe - I've heard so many good things about them. I did enjoy Juxtapose though. Shoulda ended there set there. My friends - all 3 big, proper gig virgins, didn't believe me when I insisted on arranging a meeting point for after and told them it would be vicious in there. (We were frontish on the stage left) and when it kicked off I wish I coulda got a photo of thier faces lol! I nearly fell over so many times and I was wrestling with my camera too, so I got out after a while and went more to the side. My sister went right down the front though so kudos to her! I agree, the sound was rubbish. What was the beef with that? I saw Queen a few weeks ago and thier sound was amazing so theres no excuse really. Still, didn't spoil it coz all the band were on top form. Noel, Liam, Gem, Andy and how amazing was Zak?!! (Is he a permanant member? cos in the programme he was listed as an 'additional musician'?) I can't remember a lot of the Idle phases - I took some pics of them but I haven't looked back at them yet. The only one I can remember at the moment is... He who Loafs first loafs loudest - but they'll probably come back to me later. I thought Rock and Roll Star was the tune of the night. It was an amazing performance and it was just like - yeah, you are the rock and roll stars - perhaps the only band around at the moment worthy of that title? I can now die happy - I have seen Oasis, in Manchester, singing RARS! Liam was dripping in attitude! So fuckin sexy! Wow! I will post some of my pics later, although the majority of them will be blurry and a bit shite. Better than nowt. I have had a couple of really shit weeks recently, and that concert has just completely made up for it. I am now recharged and much more posative. I wish I could go to the other UK Dates. Do you think they might do some more gigs later in the year? People going on the 2nd and 3rd - you're gonna have a brillient night! Thanks Lads for the gig of a lifetime! And thanks to the fella who lifted me up so I could take better photos! Oasis fans are excellent!
