No my good man, what you need is good arguments! Lol. Like try singing Speed of sound, and inevitably you won't get half way throgh before you end up singing clocks somehow.
But start humming Let there be love, and it'll spread like a wild plauge (okay maybe getting a bit carried away, but I did catch my mate singing it the other day, after he refused to admit he liked it; not a happy man).

Speed of sound is a week track in my opinion, im interested in hearing the rest of the album though. I think(and read) coldplay and oasis both released the weekest tracks off there respective albums as lead singles just to get the buzz going then will release the big singles to keep the sales of the albums ticking along instead of just going for big 1st week sales. I don't dislike coldplay i actualy like some tracks but the albums don't have any replay value for me, I can't remember the last time i listened to A rush of blood. Whereas i listen to a wide range of oasis albums all the time.
Cheers

I think Speed Of Sound is actually a good tune... But then again, so is most of the stuff on DBTT... which makes me wonder, why is Coldplay so over in the U-S but half of the people over here don't know who Oasis is??? Is it because Coldplay is younger? I just don't get it.

I mean, why is it that Kiss 108 plays Speed Of Sound and Look What You've Done by Jet, but they fail to acknowledge that Oasis even exists?? (They have "Jet" performing at the Tweeter Center on June 24th, no mention of Oasis) (Back in the day they DID play Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Don't go Away)

I agree with u djlen74, I can´t understand. Honestly. Its because Jet and Coldplay play the game, there corporate suck ups they praise everyone in the industry and do all the right things media wise, whereas oasis just didn't and still don't give a fuck about corporate pigs and big media organisations, they just let nature take its course whether that being cancelled tours, pissing off interviewers(Liam TRL was class) and so on... But when people say oasis never broke the US it really Irks me, Coldplay ain't sold 4.5million of anyone of there albums in the us alone(yet WTSMG did, Be Here now also made #2 and sold over a million in the us), Coldplay can't sell out Boltons reebok let alone madison square garden. I don't think the american critics, media could get over the fact that no matter who you are/were, oasis just don't care and therefor got labelled arrogant and difficult to work with. I dunno how much jet sold in the us but remember whos supporting who on the american leg of there tour. No disrespect to the US but im fed up with this breaking america bollocks, Counting crows, Black crowes, matchbox 20 how about you try and break britain? doggboy

"Coldplay can't sell out Boltons reebok let alone madison square garden."
Didn't Coldplay sell out MSG a couple of years ago actually?

I disagree, its well known that oasis cancelled tours, Fucked MTV off with the whole unplugged saga, slagged off nearly every band, didn't conform to industry politics(be polite in interviews etc...) unlike Coldplay who just about suck upto everyone in america VH1, MTV etc... The difference is Chris martin acts like there not worthy of there status and is humble about there success(which the media love) whereas oasis came along and said were the fucking best, we deserve everything we win now get out my way you twat sort of attitude, which the fans like loved and could indentify with, there we have a proper Rock n roll star something to aspire to. But the media(american) couldn't grasp the irony and see beyond the image and labelelled them as the enemy. And oasis owning there record label has nothing to do with the playing the game part of the business, thats just a product of success and great business sense from noel. And i never said i hated the new coldplay tune its alright to be honest and im quite looking forward to hearing the new album, But i don't think its anything groundbreaking and special just a run of the mill coldplay track, Which i also feel the same about Lyla for oasis(weakest track on the album but i like all the same). Cheers doggboy

Yeah speed of Sound is awesome, it's just as cool as every other song they've ever put out. Come to think of it, it's practically the same song, because that's all coldplay is capable of. Chris Martin is one of the most overrated songwriters in the world. For every one good song he writes, he writes 5 others that sound like crappy versions of it, and somehow he's the best songwriter in the UK? At least with DBTT Oasis has evolved as a band, Martin will sit back and churn out the same crap over and over again until it's no longer profitable and then retire to his mansion with his trophy wife.

I need to know new opinions. Cheers I think Speed of Sound is better than TIOBI and GGTIA. But I don't think it's better than Let There Be Love. There are some tracks on the new album that I think are better than some of the tracks on DBTT.

First off let me say I like Coldplay but like someone said they are suck ups. First off to dedicate a song to a non talent like Justin Timberlake is pathetic plus Chris Martin is riding the coattails on his movie star wife . I take it like this, that Oasis has more balls than Coldplay and I feel the care more about their fans . Speed of Sound is a good song but not as good as anything of DBTT pure & simple.
