I just read the DBTT review, and although it's 3 1/2 stars (which isn't the worst thing) , the review was shit. It said how it's not the album fans have been waiting for. It said how it was just an expected album that has finally come. And I think out of the whole shit article, the worst thing it said, was that The Meaning of Soul was the best song on there. I have yet to hear the album because I'm waiting. But I know that The Meaning of Soul is not the best song on the album. It also said that The Importance of Being Idle was the weakest track. That magazine has turned to utter shit. If something like this has been posted then I'm sorry to waste your time.
- cheers

To be honest, and I'm not verbally attacking Americans here, but I think that magazine is a pile of shit anyway, give me a copy of NME anyday of the week rather than that crap.

I am American and I buy NME all the time, but I won't give RS the privilage of being read by me. They are a bunch of narrow minded, 50 cent loving, pussies.

they really said that idle was the weakest song? they should buy themselves some ears... IMO idle is the best song and i can understand that ppl might think differently... but the weakest?? BTW 3.5/5 doesn't reflects the album...and i dont think fans are disappointed...where did they find such a stupid idea? one word: BS

the best critic is yourself, fuck the rest[/quote] I CONCUR WITB ! I am american (got some 5th generation IRish in me mind you) and have ranted about RS on several posts. They did not give it a good review bec. 1.) they are _ _ _ _ _ *&^% ! and 2.) they don't expect good album sales here in the states for oasis. on their speculation. RS goes hand in hand with big business and investors in various companies. They give britney spears RAVE reviews bec. in turn she gives interviews and in turn then gets great album sales. something to that affect and order of things. It's quite an incestuous thing... Dude, where's my country RS PISS OFF ! the rest of you on this forum , be well ! cheers to y'all !

when nme bought out melody maker everything turned to crap for them too. they are owned by time warner which is just as bad as the rolling stone. fact is that oasis in england is always a good selling act, if they werent nme (time warner) would hate them just like the rolling stone hates them in the states.

I stopped buying the NME ages ago. It has turned (if it wasn't already) into the most shit infested trend following musical tabloid ever. Its interested in haircut music. Not REAL music

in your opinion, so what are some good music mags that aren't connected to big biz and a mag that doesn't sell out real music ? I guess go underground and as stated above , be your own critic ! cheers ;D

The thing that annoys me about the NME is its juvenial superficiality and shallowness

The only thing I really wish is that Coldplay's album wasn't released the week after DBTT. It has only one week to get a real selling point. I do believe the album is stronger than Heathen Chemistry and should do better. Rolling Stone has fucking gone to the dogs . Spin gave it a solid rating and said it could be the sleeper CD of the summer. If Rolling Stone said TIOBI is the weakest track than go who wrote it is deaf . It's a top track!

I think it's time Rolling Stone found a more suitable name for their mag. There is nothing "rolling" about it anymore. With all of their shite reviews in mind, I think that "Oops! I did it again" would be the best name.
I FUCKING hate Rolling Stone!! DIE vagina FUCKS!!

NME might as well be the UKs Rolling Stone. RS has had an agenda for years, nobody takes them seriously anymore. I usually go to websites that poll fans for my reviews, who cares what some 30something cocksucker thinks about music hes predisposed to dislike, the fans know better.

Honestly, I'm pretty middle-of-the-road, but I gotta say that RollingStone's politics are VERY left-wing; they are well outside the mainstream. Don't know what that has to do with the lame Oasis album review though.
