Guys, I can speak for Americans who have seen them live - in the UK, they're playing stadiums and no one is afraid to jump around and have a good time. In the US, people are ASSHOLES and barely do anything except stand up and clap when teh song is over. I think thebigz1's wishes are misguided here - Oasis' shows are rockin' live, but people in America who go to concerts are too pretentious and dull to fully enjoy them, so no one "has it" at the shows. They just stand there like morons, expecting their rock stars to jump around for them. I know, it's silly, but it's true. The only shows you'll see people really getting into it is probably a hip-hop show or a heavy metal show. At least there the fans are expected to really 'ave it.
Because of the CROWD, I can see why some people would think Oasis' shows are fairly dull live; acts who interact with the crowd a bit more are considered more fun live because the fans are too afraid to pogo or whatever. I guess it's a cultural thing?
That said, I'd love to see a Noel acoustic set, and judging by what I've heard from the two live performances of Oasis recently (the one that was aired on TV and the Milan gig), I'm hoping Liam's voice SHAPES UP in time for the US tour. I wouldn't be surprirsed if they mix up the songs either on the US leg because they don't even have supersonic on there yet. They're just warming up and maybe Liam needs to warm his voice up and really prepare for a long tour, but I'm hoping his voice gets better because it's not sounding all that great at the moment.
My dream setlist would go something like this, while also trying to remain realistic:
Turn Up The Sun Mucky Fingers Supersonic Acquiesce Rockin' Chair (yes, electric, like in 95!)
Noel acoustic set: Talk Tonight Slide Away It's Better People Wonderwall The Masterplan
(back to Liam & Noel/electric) Don't Look Back in Anger (w/ piano, violins, etc) Live Forever D'You Know What I Mean? (w/ added effects to make it sound more like the album...call me a perfectionist but the album version of this song is unbelievable, and you all know it sounds thin live...) My Big Mouth (yes, this too...one of the most underrated oasis tracks ever..should have been a single) It's Gettin Better Man (shortened to 4 or 4:30) Champagne Supernova
Encore: The Fame Whatever Listen Up The Importance of Being Idle (cover) - Street Fighting Man or My Generation

As having never seen Oasis live before, I hope when I do this summer that Liam is in perfect health and I get a traditional Oasis concert. However, I totally understand the desire to see Noel sing a full acoustic set, especially considering he's seen them before. I've seen numerous Oasis concerts on TV, and MTV Unplugged is by far the most rewarding to watch in my opinion. Especially with Liam's voice struggling a bit live these days. Also, I think suggesting the regular Oasis line up is amazing live is a bit of an overstatement. I'm sure watching it on TV and being there are probably much different in terms of atmosphere, but I've always considered them to be simply fine, and nothing more. And aside from a few altered Noel harmonies or drunken lyrical changes or extended guitar wanking, each live performance I've seen hasn't differed much from other live versions or the studio version. So what's the harm in wanting a little change?

They played here and in Buenos Aires in 98 and it was the SAME thing. Not only the songs but the exact same jokes and same speech. I remember that a magazine got the front cover saying 'He says it to all the others' with Bono in the front cover with an Argetinean t-shirt, saying the sentences he told here in Brazil... Therefore.. I stick with Oasis.

very well put but i have seen them in both the usa and uk knebworth, lochlomond(scot),finsbury, wembley, earls court, there shows dont generate any extra passion from the band (liam and noel) there beacon theatre gig in nyc was just as passionate as earls court noel wrapped himself in a irish (yes irish) flag that was thrown onstage.the point is OASIS play the same in the USA (NYC AT LEAST) as they do the UK AS for your comment about changin the setlist cause there was no SUPERSONIC...NOEL on all his usa interviews said they will not play the songs they are sick (i guess supersonic is 1 of them) he said they were bored playin the same "old tunes" so i look for no supersonic he did say they will play live forever-wonderall-cs though well, all i can say is, the crowd has a lot to with how the show goes, and the gigs I've seen in boston, the fans suck - despite the fact that there are tons of college students who go to see them whenever they come here. i doubt nyc is a lot different, people here just don't go nuts at concerts like they do in england and other parts of the world, per the factors i mentioned before.

I partially agree with what you're saying there mate but check this gig out: live4ever.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=Media&action=display&thread=1115832751and tell me if they sounded dull.. I see what you mean but as Noel says, Oasis is always about music and they do every thing for you to listen to a quality gig musically. They do something wild like that once in a while. Denver 2001 is another great proof.

I am getting ready to see Oasis in Chiacago and Boston and hope Liam's voice fails by then. Why? Well... Noel has to get on stage and play something different. He and the band will not have to the set list from the night before, which was the set list from the night before, which was the set list from the gig before and so on. They are the greatest group in the world, but their live performances are pretty weak. I have seen them front row countless times and only wish their songs would change from show to show. If Liam's voice fails, at least I'll am assured of getting an acoustic set. everything you said is retarded, their setlist does change except for a few classics. and they are usually very good live with minimal exceptions. Sometimes it aint the music, or the songs, the singing, the guitars, that make or break a show, its everything together, its the atmosphere...that's what I found better at an oasis concert than any others. The anticipation too..

Well its a bit ridiculous to expect a different set list every fucking show man, what band does do that? Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Grateful Dead, etc. Jam bands ;D However, Oasis is not a jam band and I don't want them to be one. I love a jam band (hearing phish do the whole white album rocks when its completely unexpected!) concerts, but I want an OASIS ROCK CONCERT. ah, a man with good taste in music! it should be noted that in nearly 40 years of playing together, the Dead played the same setlist only a handful of times, and this was back in their early years. I'd be happy if Noel came out and played a 3 or 4 accoustic set, mixing up the songs each night. he could probably rattle off a few gems and some oldies here and there. It be nice to have small element of surprise at each show

I didn't say they were dull, I said because of the crowd, I can see why those people (wankers) would say they're dull...I don't think the show itself is ever dull at all...I'm always having it at an Oasis gig but overall I feel like people here just don't really get excited at rock concerts anymore, and I have to wonder why they bother paying.

I didn't say Oasis play with a different vibe DUE to the crowd, I said the crowd drive's the individual's experience at a show. All I'm saying is, I don't think I'd have nearly as much fun at an Oasis show here as in another part of the world where the crowd is better. I have about 100 oasis boolegged shows and I've listened to them all - trust me, I know that Oasis sound the same wherever they go. You're just missing my point.

rediculous one thing that really pisses me off though is that the floor seats here are seats rather than general admission, ive never seen oasis but i will in manchester then again in vancouver and seattle in september but who the fuck wants to sit down in a chair, i can almost guarantee i'll have much more fun in manchester cos of the crowd... thats something that i definitely dont agree with

Even people who dont like Oasis admit that theyre excellent when they perform live, won a few awards for best live band as well. I personally dont like the Noel acoustic set, Oasis to me are all about Liam. As for changing songs show to show are you serious ? This must be an April Fools. How many bands out there on tour change their set everytime ??!?! None. Its ridiculous to think they'll do a new show with new songs on every single gig they do. Ridiculous
