ok ,i have been reading threads here about people talking of OASIS sound changing,,the debate over the beatles rubber soul or revolver ,,stones exile on main street.....here is the deal no fuckin band thats together for a decade will sound like they did 10 years earlier, "zep "sounded different "the who" sounded diifferent the beatles,the stones and so on.. SO DEAL WITH IT any artist who listens to music and thinks they sound like they did 10 years earlier would QUIT ....
if people dont like the new sound DONT BUY THE FUCKIN LP but stop wining about OASIS changing ITS WHAT BANDS DO AS THEY AGE THEY CHANGE OR QUIT...SORRY 4 THE RANT BUT IT NEEDED TO BE SAID

i'll second that notion...well said THANX its just anyone shoulkd realise that artists evolve ,the bands that dont are the bands that break up quick,,nirvana .the pistols. cream...and people wax nostagically about there sound thinkin they would continue cranking out tunes like the early ones..but its not the case artists evolve and if NOEL had to write CIGS AND ALCOHOL on every lp he would slit his wrists..it is so fuckin depressing reading posts about people complaining of change..DOES" ALL OF MY LOVE " (ON IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR ) ZEPS LAST STUDIO LP REMIND ANYONE OF "DAZED AND CONFUSED"(THERE FIRST LP} NO but they are both great and if your a fan you will appreciate it... |

I think their sound change has a lot to do with Gem and Andy in the band too. I think if Noel was the only one writing all the songs they would have packed it in by now. |

well put. I think their sound change has a lot to do with Gem and Andy in the band too. I think if Noel was the only one writing all the songs they would have packed it in by now. no doubt, i agree totally..and i will tell u this would LET THERE BE LOVE OR GUESS GOD been on there first lp ???i think not but 10 years from now we will be listening to it thinking how great it sounds..change is good OASIS get slagged off for being to retro. then they change and get slagged off for aging and getting mellow...so wats the solution break up  and have us listen to the old tunes.not for me i like it i like the direction they are going i think LIAM is starting to write some good stuff.i am excited  |

i totally agree. its natural. and anyway! all their albums are distinctly different from eachother so its to be expected that DBTT is slightly different too. and if they didnt, people would say its boring! exactly! thats why i ranted on ...its like FANS want the same old same old  ..if i want DM i will play it IF i want WTSMG i will play it..i want different sounding styles ....thank GOD lennon and macca did not keep writing HELP OR SHE LOVES YOU ..great tunes but if they were scared of change we would never have had STRAWBERRY FEILDS.HEY JUDE,IN MY LIFE..JMO |

I really like the new material. Even the b-sides, Won't Let You Down, Eyeball Tickler, and I Can See It Now are stunning. It's nice to see their sound evolving. i think it's great as well isn't what people always used to give out about oasis was that all their stuff was the exact same? top album ;D |

I agree m8 the so-called new oasis direction is mega and i would'nt expect any band who's been around as long as them to not progress, to be honest the more i hear DBTT the more i fall in love with it , TIOBI and Guess god thinks im abel (to name 2) are amonst the best tracks oasis has ever done. It will go down as a classic no doubt(in my eyes for sure). i agree..they sound a little more relaxed not as hectic sounding(if that makes sense) but it sounds like them i dont get the critics man Relaxed is a good discription of the new tracks....also think Zaks drumming is spot on..think most people do as this has not been metioned once. |

Kalas, you are right !!! I concur.
I noticed a lot of "mates" going on about the old voice of Liam... I understand, who doesn't love his SNARL !
But as you well know, Liam doesn't even prefer his voice "back in the old days !"
I don't have a clue but sounds to me he's had some vocal training or just PURE AMBITION and drive.
Noel also has stated as you are well aware, Noel said he will now make music that pleased him artistically. and he is at the point now in his life this makes complete sense.
So it's us GEEZERS that have been around long enuff to listen and witness mant of these groups progress...

Perfect example of a band evolving is U2. Would there ever been an Achtung Baby if they hadnt evolved? No. This is the example to pattern all evolution in rock n roll bands. Oasis has done a magnificent job with this new album and to be honest..its more mature than anything they've done. The fact is, the Gallaghers are not hooligans (well maybe they still are ) anymore and mature men with basically a new band with new members. Evolution is inevitable and thank God for it. |
