what's up with all these 'fanboy' reviews here?
all i've been reading is how everyone is super happy after hearing them. And the others, those that have found a problem with the songs seem to get burned at the stake.
It's seems as though people here might be afraid to criticize the songs because they think that they might get flamed. Just cos you're a fan of something, doesn't mean you are not allowed to criticize it.
so everyone go on and speak your mind (but use intelligence!)

Alright. Um.........I hate the outros. Not enough verses (or choruses, as the case may be), TOO LONG OF POINTLESS OUTROS!!!!
It reminds me of ABBEY ROAD in the sense that, just when you're getting into a good song-- it's over! Like, you know how I guess McCartney was wanting some of the songs to sound like half of songs?
I hated that. And then on the other side, some songs just won't end.

What erks me most is people constantly trying to compare everything to DM or WTS(MG). At points it seems like the only thing that would make people happy is if Oasis went back in and rerecorded DM, Jesus wouldnt that fly like a lead balloon if they tried that as a new cd.
While I have a few issues with some of their new stuff, and Ive made a few posts about it (got slammed plenty for it too), I think some people should wake up and realize DM already came out, so quit looking for it to come out again.

I was making a comment about the people who are never pleased with anything theyve done since WTS(MG). "Its alright, sounds like a b-side they turned down from DM" or "Noels lost the touch since WTS(MG)" That kind of bull shit.
Compare it to what ever you fuckin like, Yanni, Boy George or whatever. I was just stating my opinion.

Well said! Like everyone here there are things I would change about the new tunes, but not because I want to make them more like the OLD OAsis, just because I think certain chanegs would make the tunes better. After the pasting the band have taken over the years for refusing to try anything new, we should be CELEBRATING the fact that they finally are.

We should also be glad that the boys set out to do something in particular with this album, and from the 4 tracks I've heard so far (haven't heard LTBL yet) they've succeeded. What I mean is, Noel said that he wanted the new album to be more psychedelic and have a notable Dylan Highway 61 sound--I'd say that Mucky Fingers is a total realization of that vision. We should be celebrating that at least the band has achieved what they wanted.
Since Be Here Now, Noel seems to have tried hard to distance himself from that style, and not write songs that are 6+ minutes long with huge solos. IMHO, after SOTSOG and HC, I think they may have finally pulled it off. Its different but its still Oasis, whether we love it as much as DM, we should love the successful progression.

Not heard the new tracks yet, well besides Lyla of course, but am glad to hear its receiving some good critism.
Its pretty damn envitable, that Oasis would change over the years. Fuck, as much as people change how could we not expect a band full of people to change at least a little bit. As long as they write good rock n roll and keep their damn attitude and swagger Ill back the boys.

Dude, I don't think your 6 minute argument works too well... 3/5 tracks that we have are over 5 minutes, which is a big group considering we have only got 5 tracks... For reference: 2 off HC, 4 SOTSOG, 8 off BHN(!) 4 MG, 4 DM... Of course, it could be that Lyla, Keep The Dream Alive and Let There Be Love will be the only long tracks on the album, which would prove me wrong... But either way, it's not like they're shying away from the long songs at all...

These could be radio edits as well. I dont think we have to ever worry about Noel giving up his guitar bits, at least I hope not.

Your right Mape, but its pretty annoying when the people who are saying they dont like the new songs are comparing them to DM or WTSMG. One guy yesterday was even saying that every song on BHN was better than Mucky Fingers. If its not a progression or a different sounding song than the likes of 'I Hope I Think I Know', or 'My Big Mouth', then they might aswell cancel all the summer gigs, pack up their Les Pauls and call it a day for good. I myself havent heard them yet so I cant comment. Just my 'tuppence worth.
