I am not mindlessly slagging anything off. Have you heard Vice, by Razorlight, or Smile, by the Supernaturals? Listen to them and you'll see what I mean about Mucky fingers. Yeah and cigarettes and alcohol is like that fuckin t-rex song, but i bet you liked that. and anyway, MF doesnt sound like Vice. Also, its almost like you are TRYING to pick faults! How can you judge it when youve only heard it 1 day, give it more time man! Please, for your own benefit! |

Exactly!!!!! If youve got something new to say then go for it! You would only be happy if it was something positive about the album. I don't have anything positive to say about it, so I will leave the forum. I came here for some light-hearted chat about my favourite band, that's all. I can see I'm not welcome. |

What about all the people 'mindlessly' bigging it up!?? FFS, a lot of them haven't even heard the new tracks. I have listened to the new tracks several times and have given my opinion. Your opinion is obviously at a different end of the spectrum to mine - lets just leave it at that and agree to differ and I'll happily say no more, as long as you don't 'mindlessly' call me abusive names. I think it sounds very slightly like vice, but I don't care.. let there be love is different class. And to prove my point, you haven't said anything in that post that you haven't previously posted   |

Personally I don't think we need to flame this guy to death for not liking the new stuff; he sounds to me like a fan who is actually quite upset that he doesn't (or can't) like the band's new music. A shame for him I say, but let's not just get into mindless name calling, is pointless.
For me, I thought Mucky Fingers was FANTASTIC. I absolutely LOVE that Norl has tried to do something different. As much as I like HC (and parts of SOTSOG), I have been waiting for an atempt at a new style from Oasis for years (which is why I liked Idler's Dream - it dared to be different, an Oasis tune with no guitars on!). I really like all the songs; Let There Be Love is beautiful, Keep The Dream Alive is pure psychedelic rock, and Meaning Of Soul sounds so much better to me than the Glastonbury boot (love that harmonica solo).
As much as we are fans and we like the old stuff, I think you would want the band to try and do something a bit different, something new. What would be the point of recording another DLBIA style tune, or a new CS? They have done that, and done it brilliantly. Now they have tried something a bit new, and I think it's great. Good luck to them!

i really hope that you're right.. its funny..if u play poker u will understand this anology i feel like i am sittin here with a strait flush bettin against a pair of dueces  ..i have now heard 8 tunes and I CAN TELL U that this lp will be loved..let there be love is classic--importance of bein idle..amazing noel.guess god thinks im abel- liam just singin beautiful- part of the queue-intersting.very cool- turn up the sun- a fuckin rocker=so all of u who are worried dont be .when u hear these u will be so happy,just like with this tune.its a great lp ! |

Why open a thread "I hate the new album" if you didn't hear all of it!
And even if you did, why not open a new thread "opinions about the new album/songs". I think you could forsee these harsh reactions!
I only really heard mocky fingers and I LOVE it at the moment.
