In my opinion i think the songs were top on be here now. just over produced, too loud, and too long. i think if alot of the tunes only had a few guitar tracks on them rather than 1000, and if noel had put a bit more thought into acouple of lyrics, than be here now would have had a much different affect on the bands future. every song on that album for the most part had potential in my opinion, just werent done quite right Fucking spot on

Be Here Now sucking a fact? Fuck off Gary Muloghghkjtrgljhrf. I do agree with certain bits though, like how it showed how far Oasis had gone from their roots, in terms of life style. Can't blame 'em though, if I had the money I'd buy the fancy houses, nice cars, and such. Thanks for the scans though, I'll be picking it up soon.

Thanks for the scans! I can't wait to get this issue of Q. Be Here Now used to be my favorite but I can't get through the whole thing anymore. Just so much feedback and guitar multitracks. However, I wouldn't say I really dislike any of the songs, just as an album it is so exhausting. 7 minute magic pie? woah, that is out of control. The D'you know what I mean video makes the whole era worth it though. What a mega video!

Shame Owen Morris lost the plot at the same time Noel did, maybe he could've saved the songs (and there ARE quality songs on the record, don't believe the haters) if he'd stcuk to his guns regarding the production.

Shame Owen Morris lost the plot at the same time Noel did, maybe he could've saved the songs (and there ARE quality songs on the record, don't believe the haters) if he'd stcuk to his guns regarding the production. Yeah, it was interesting reading those comments from Owen Morris, about the only new stuff in that article. The upshot is that Be Here Now was recorded at a time when relations between Liam and Noel were pretty low, they and Morris were doing shed-loads of coke and Noel had run low on songs. Plus they were surrounded by tabloid madness and the biggest hype about a British band since The Beatles. Plus they had to live up to Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. Hardly surprising the end result was so disappointing. I think it's right to say there are a few decent songs on Be Here Now (in my book these are Stand By Me, Don't Go Away, Be Here Now and D'You Know What I Mean?), but I'm not sure stripping a few of the guitars off some of them and knocking a couple of minutes off here and there would have transformed them into classics. The simple fact of the matter is that some of the songs on the album just weren't up to scratch. I think improving the lyrics would have helped, particularly with songs such as Magic Pie and It's Getting Better Man, but compared with what they had done on the previous two albums the quality was just not there. It's not an appalling album, and it's understandable why it isn't as good as what went before, but I cannot comprehend how some people say it's their favourite Oasis album. I think they must be into the wrong band.

Thanks for this.... I love Noel with all my heart... but there's no way I could slag off BHN as he does. Its one of my favorite albums and always will be.
