This is just a poncey way of saying Liam used to wash cars. 'Valeter' over here doesn't mean the same thing as 'valet parking' in the US. Basically he'll have stood somewhere like the forecourt of a petrol garage and washed cars. No driving skills required.

Liam can't drive. Both Gallaghers are car incapable.
