FOO FIGHTERS covered OASIS's chart-topping hit single 'LYLA' last night (August 24) for a special warm-up gig in LONDON.
The band, who will headline the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend, performed the track to a packed audience at the Astoria for the second time this week.
Halfway through the show, frontman Dave Grohl shouted to the audience: "We did a cover of 'Lyla' on Radio 1, does anyone want to hear that?", before the band launched into the track briefly and changed the lyrics to "I waited for a thousand years for you to come and fuck me out of my mind".
Grohl found himself in hot water when he performed the track earlier this week after he swore on air accidentally during Jo Whiley's lunchtime slot.
The singer, who was dressed in all black, was in comical form throughout the gig, especially after performing fan favourite 'My Hero' when he joked: "I sang so hard then I threw up in my mouth. So I expect everybody to sing this next song ('Best Of You') so hard that they fucking puke up in their mouth. It is a little gross but there you go."
Instead of concentrating solely on performing tracks from their recent double album 'In Your Honour', the four-piece tore through a monster 105-minute set featuring songs stretching back through their entire back catalogue.
Grohl constantly praised the Reading Festival throughout the gig, declaring it to be the "best fucking festival in the world' after performing two legendary shows with Nirvana in 1991 and 1992, and the Foo Fighters later in the last decade.
During the show, he even took time out to trade places with drummer Taylor Hawkins on the album track 'Cold Day In The Sun', and he performed a downbeat solo rendition of the band's classic hit single 'Everlong'.
The Foo Fighters frontman dedicated the track 'In Your Honour' to his family, who were watching the gig from a balcony above the stage.
The setlist ran:
'Hell' 'Times Like These' 'DOA' 'My Hero' 'Best Of You' 'Up In Arms' 'Learn To Fly' 'The Last Song' 'For All The Cows' 'The One' 'Have It All' 'Lyla' 'Stacked Actors' 'Tired Of You' 'Everlong' 'Hey Johnny Park!' 'Monkey Wrench' 'In Your Honour' 'Breakout' 'Aurora' 'Cold Day In The Sun' 'All My Life'

the band launched into the track briefly and changed the lyrics to "I waited for a thousand years for you to come and fuck me out of my mind" Hardly much of a lyric change seeing as Liam sings it that way for EVERY gig!

The Foo Fighters suck beyond belief. Man that is a terrible setlist. The few songs I recognize are gay and/or shit.

I really wish they would stop covering Lyla. Their cover is terrible.
