The Who Plan Tour The Who are to embark on a major world tour early next year. The band plan to start rehearsing February 2006 with Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Starr) on drums, Starkey previously played drums for Oasis at their 2004 Glastonbury headline slot. Speaking on his official website, Pete Townsend explains “I had a good lunch with Roger to discuss possible work in the coming months. We have agreed to reconvene next February." www.albumvote.co.uk/news/news?id=608

I don't want him to go. He fits the Oasis mold so nicely.

good, it gives oasis time to rest early next year and write more songs for the next album which they should release early 2007

I think Zak is a great drummer and is doing a great job with Oasis, although Id love to see Alan back, but cant see it happening.

listen to alans early gigs and later gigs, he lost something special like his energy, he just doesn't even sound like he's there at some of the later gigs like finsbury in 2002

Alan is great drummer and I like him very much. It would be nice to see him back, but I don't know about it.
Zak is also good drummer, but as I said many times, he is not fittng for Oasis style. Nevertheless, among his peers he is one of the best drummers, and I really want him in the band instead of no one. For me, I always regarded Oasis as a fice-piece band, so I'm for his staying for the long run.
I doubt it that the Who are capable of anything significant nowadays...

oh, so NOW we don't want zak to leave. after all that shit people on l4e have been giving him because they missed alan, said "oh, zak's not even close to being a better drummer than alan" because the band was horrible at glasto.
so, my closing argument (which has been my argument ever since we found out he was playing with oasis for glasto '04)... ZAK IS THE BEST DRUMMER IN ROCK AND ROLL TODAY... he is pure rock and roll! to make the who sound like the who again after kenney jones and that other guy simon is quite a feat- nobody else can come close to sounding a little bit like mooney! he fits oasis' style 100%!!! he brings the definitely maybe sound out a million times better than tony and alan. honestly, when was the last time you heard rock 'n' roll star and bring it on down with that much energy?!?!
this is starting to turn into a rant, so i'm just giving up on this...

Well for me, he isnt close to being a better drummer than Alan, and he was pretty terrible at Glastonbury. He sounds a lot better with the band now, probably just through playing together all this time now. I think hes a great drummer, but I personally prefer Alans style.

id be devastated if zak left. his drumming is largely responsible for the sucess of oasis live lately. he is the best drummer around and is more talented than alan ever was. he gets on great wiv the band, always laughing and jokin wen i see them.
i hope he stays permanently.

Zak is pure rock
The only complaint I have is that I'd much rather have Tony McCarrol drum Live Forever than Zak
