OASIS star NOEL GALLAGHER has a special fondness for his fans in Newcastle, England, because they are not afraid to drop their inhibitions at the band's gigs.

The SUPERSONIC hitmaker recalls a recent performance in the area during a blazing heatwave, which saw the audience stripping off to their underwear to cool down.

He says, "It was very hot with lots of topless boys. By the end of the show it looked like a scene from (London gay club night) G.A.Y.

"I always have a good time in Newcastle. I think the people are very funny, they crack me up."
