gonna force my kids to listen to it if i have any LOL ! well my daughter lena is madferrit ! when she saw the lyla video she did not recognize liam at first, (SHE CLEARLY knows who he is w.o sunglasses on..) anway, she said "Mama I like him ... I like the way he looks...  " ya know when he fucking shakes his head and chews the gum ! Aaaaaahhhh ! I am in trouble lena favors Liam ! she is 6.  lena said the other day : my favorite groups are 1.)girl's bands (avril etc.) 2.) Oasis 3.) AND SONGBIRD ! apparently she fancies this song SO MUCH that is it a whole separate category in her mind ! LOL ! so cute.. off of DBTT lena seems to like Lyla and TIOBI the most ! she has her mum's voice (mine) which I got from my mum, and can even hit some of the higher notes !  it is a pure JOY to share oasis and other music with your children ! TRUST me lena will be raised on PROPER British rock and classics (oldies.) SHE IS MAD FER ELVIS too and does like colplay. I cld go on and on ! J-O-Y ! Tam ;D |

Hi! I'm absolutely agree with dominic, WTSMG is (in one word) perfect! Anyway, for me one of the things that shows how important, in the history of the music, is this album is that it's not perfect only for the oasis fans, or the people who like at least some of the oasis' songs from DM, DBTT, BHN,... It's great cos if you lend WTSMG to a friend, or you listen to it with somebody, they enjoy with the album (sure) and it's not important which kind of music they are used to listen to... For me this is the difference with DM, BHN,... cos this others albums are great as well, but a lot of people can say that are garbage... (i can't understand it but...) =P And that's the reason by which I think that a fan can't be bored listen to it! =) Adeu! |

Its not my favourite.
Whilst some of it is absoutely majestic - the 10 minutes of Morning Glory and Champagne Supernova is breathtaking - some other parts are a bit ordinary in my opinion. Whilst there's nothing wrong with songs like Cast No Shadow and Hello - they don't give me the shivers like the 'less brillaint' tracks on Definitely Maybe.
One reason might be that, whilst I was well into Oasis in the mid nineties, I wasn't really old enough to grasp what it meant culturally.
Definitely Maybe still rules in my world.

i like morning glory a million times more than sgt. pepper... don't get me wrong, sgt. pepper is a great album, though not my beatles favourite ( which is Abbey Road)
