Was listening to the official UK Top 40 album chart show on Virgin Radio this morning and noticed Whats the Story is a re-entry at number 28. How close is it now to becoming biggest selling UK album ever?
The DJ played DLBIA and then said LTBL will be their next big anthem

I don't think WTSMG will ever overtake Sgt. Peppers and as much as love oasis I don't want anyone to take Sgt. Peppers number one spot! it deserves to be up there, like it or not

Actually I have been told that 'unnofficially' (as much as that counts) WTSMG actually has probably sold the most as an initial sale b/c Sgt. Peppers has been bought repeatedly b/c first it was on Vinyl then 8-Track then cassette and finally CD.
I am sure a small persentage of WTSMG was bought on cassette but I am sure over 95% was bought as CD and people that have it have only purchased it once.

Putting my love for Oasis aside, and stepping back as a MUSIC FAN and looking objectively at WTSMG, I would have to put it in the Top 50 albums of ALL TIME in the HISTORY of the Rock Era. Nothing else released during that period even comes close to touching it.

and its not just in the charts...but its number 28! which is a damn respectable position! fuckin 10 years later! absolutely amazing =)
i wouldnt object WTSMG outselling Sgt Peppers. i really love the beatles, but the thing is that they'll always have that title of being the best british band ever (and deservedly!), so it'd be cool if oasis got some other nifty title like having the highest selling album in the UK

Morning Glory is better than Sgt. Pepper! I love the beatles and sgt. pepper, but morning glory has no weak tracks, sgt. pepper has shite like when I'm 64 and lovely rita!
