Am I the only one who thinks Noel's voice sounds strangely high and altered on this song? The version from Familiar to millions is a lot different. maybe he was just a young'n.

it's just the sound. remember when the single was released- they were at the peak of their hubris. everything was cranked to eleven. by the sotsog tour, they matured (i think lol) and their sound shows

Haha the imagery with "matured" and the two versions was something I could have done without, but at least I understand why

Well Noel's voice is bound to be different 4-5 years later (10 years now!)
I think it is better at Familiar to Millions, i love the songs and both versions but it shows how much his voice has improved over the years. They are right though, his voice has matured... songs like Little By Little and Idler's Dream wouldn't sound the same if they were written and recorded in 1995

I think Step Out is one of the best studio recordings Oasis have done. Whitey's drumming is stunning.
