What bands do they like?
this is just off the top of my head
Noel - The coral, soundtrack fo our lives, the stands, kings of leon
dislikes: libertines, franz ferdinand, pretty much anyone
Liam - ocean colour scene
dislikes: ?
Andy ?
Gem ?
(I think I greatly prefer the bands that are older that they like than the newer bands they like, while I like the newer bands that they dislike

oh well, maybe he likes them but dislikes certain things about them - sorry this isn't researched or anything so I was just going on what he's said most recently - that being that he dislikes certain things about them - which of course doesn't mean that he dislikes them as a whole

I thought Noel was influenced early on by Stone Roses, BEATLES, The Stones,The Who, Bowie, Pink Floyd and all kinds of Greatest hits. He certainly endorsed several bands over the years as you mentioned above.
I LOVE the story about Liam going to see the Stone Roses with Noel, way back, when Ian Brown walked off stage reportedly Liam said "he felt as though he took of piece of him (Liam) with him" Then as you well KNow Liam influenced by Sex Pistols and Lennon.
Side note: glad to see Noel influenced more recently by new ones he's not mentioned before: The Velvet Underground (LOU REED) and DYLAN ! YES ! Be well, Tamara ps I realize I am not saying anything you don;t already know, just a bit chatty here.

gem loves the polyphonic spree.
andy bell likes loads of 'weird' music right now, he tries to get noel into it all.
liam likes 'the black velvets' and 'brmc' ("coz theyre loud") - obviously sex pistols, beatles, the who, stone roses, elvis, kasabian (he and mani virtually discovered them)
noel - where do i start - the coral, the stands, brmc, beatles, early bee gees, pistols, who, velvet underground, neil young, the jam, stone roses, soundtrack of our lives, jet, kasabian, travis, ocs, coldpay (more chris martin than the band), the bandits, paul weller, charlatans, the la's, the verve, the hiss, proud mary, kings of leon, the bees, razorlight, the libertines, yeti (new band), ryan adams, the killers, doves, the smiths, johnny marr and the healers (one-off album), the zutons, the ordinary boys...for now thats all i can think of, iv prolly missed some obvious 60's and 70's influenced ones but got the main ones.

To me The Strokes are good band but I don´t love them. Yeah same here. Most people will kill me for saying this but I think 12:51 is the best thing they've done by far. BTW Liam hates them. |

And int the be there then video whenthey play live forever there's also a moment when they put a bob marley picture on the screen.
