greatest hits should be at least 6 CDs ;D hehhe... I totally agree... a greatest-hit package are targeted to casual fans and not us hard-core fan freaks (unless there's a few new songs on there!!!) to me, this money-grabbing package doesn't reflect Oasis' music as a whole, it would basically ignore the beloved b-sides and album tracks that clearly defines the Oasis' sound and strength an example of a well-chosen greatest hits cd is the Backstreet Boys' Chapter One, it has all their singles and their most listenable songs on it... however, there are too many songs of this calibre (sorry for the Backstreet Boys analogy, we all know that Oasis' standard is much higher ) in Oasis' catalogue that maybe fit on a standard cd package to clearly present to the world how the band's music should be perceived... (the band should not be perceived as only the band with hits like Wonderwall, Live Forever, etc., the band is more than that and much better than that)... rather than that... I would like a dvd with all their videos and promos... as well as a Beatles Anthology-styled box set!!

I'm too lazy to do the math. Is it possible to fit this on one cd? When the next album is out, maybe we get 2 or 3 more hits. That means they have to do a double album. By the way, that will be the closest we will ever get to another blue album.
1. Live Forever 2. Supersonic 3. Cigarettes & Alcohol 4. Whatever 5. Wonderwall 6. Don’t Look Back In Anger 7. Some Might Say 8. Morning Glory 9. Champagne Supernova 10. Talk Tonight 11. Acquiesce 12. The Master Plan 13. D’you know what I mean? 14. Stand by me 15. Go let it out 16. The Hindu times 17. Stop crying your heart out 18. Lyla 19. The importance of being idle 20. Guess God thinks I’m Abel 21. Let there be love

I don't expect an Oasis compilation of any kind from now untill one of the Gallaghers dies. Even so, I'd put it like so (in an order that I think would fit):
1. Cigarettes & Alcohol 2. Some Might Say 3. Don't Look Back In Anger 4. Little By Little 5. Stand By Me 6. Gas Panic! 7. Lyla 8. All Around The World 9. Wonderwall 10. (New song) 11. Rock 'N Roll Star 12. (Don't Belive The Truth single- Let There Be Love or Love Like A Bomb) 13. Songbird 14. Champagne Supernova 15. (New song) 16. Live Forever

Does anyone think a greatist hit album will appear in a few years? I doubt it. Noel was against The Masterplan album so if he has a say then oasis will not lower themselves to a greatest hits. Guns N' Roses released a GH album even though 3 original members (Axl Rose, Slash and Duff) sued the record company to stop it. Not only that but Dizzy Reed said in an interview they don't get any money from the album (which is selling extremelly well - over 2 million copies in the USA alone). I'm sure Noel will take care of this for the next record deal and Oasis will not be in this position.

This isn't what I'd pick nor probably what the band would pick (they wouldn't have Stay Young, Whatever and Step Out for various reasons) but it has a best of feel to it.
CD 1
1. Rock 'N' Roll Star 2. Some Might Say 3. Born On A Different Cloud 4. D'yer Wanna Be A Spaceman? 5. Stand By Me 6. Lyla 7. Round Are Way 8. Headshrinker 9. Don't Go Away 10. Columbia 11. Sunday Morning Call 12. Songbird 13. Don't Look Back In Anger 14. Cigarettes & Alcohol 15. The Swamp Song 16. Whatever 17. Bring It On Down 18. Morning Glory 19. Slide Away 20. Champagne Supernova
CD2
1. Fuckin' In The Bushes 2. Acquiesce 3. Wonderwall 4. Fade Away 5. Live Forever 6. (Probably) All In The Mind 7. Stay Young 8. Going Nowhere 9. The Hindu Times 10. Supersonic 11. Underneath The Sky 12. Gas Panic 13. Fade In-Out 14. Step Out 15. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 16. Cast No Shadow 17. Half The World Away 18. Go Let It Out 19. Roll With It 20. Let There Be Love 21. The Masterplan

i disagree with what most people are putting in their lists. first of all oasis only has 6 albums, what isn't enought to make a double greatest hits. and also it has to be greates hits, not greatest songs, so i don't think songs like talk tonight and fade away would fit a greatest hits album. so my list would be: 1- Supersonic 2- Live Forever 3- Rock 'n'roll star 4- cigarettes & alcohol 5- whatever 5- don't look back in anger 6- wonderwall 7- champagne supernova 8- stand by me 9- don't go away 11- d'you know what i mean 12- go let it out 13- the hindu times 14- stop crying your heart out 15- lyla
maybe 15 songs is too much, if i had to exclude one it would be d'you know what i mean. i was in doubt if should put acquiesce or the hindu times. i just choose tht because there are few songs from the latest albuns
just my opinion

That's why I put Best Of ;D. I put in the songs which represent what's great about the band and of course the songs the public knows. I think it's important that if this is the only Oasis CD the public buys they should hear album tracks and B sides. A conventional Greatest Hits would be a singles collection 1. Supersonic 2. Shakermaker 3. Live Forever 4. Cigarettes & Alcohol 5. Whatever 6. Some Might Say 7. Roll With It 8. Wonderwall 9. Don't Look Back In Anger 10. D'you Know What I Mean? 11. Stand By Me 12. All Around The World 13. Go Let It Out 14. Who Feels Love? 15. Sunday Morning Call 16. The Hindu Times 17. Stop Crying You Heart Out 18. Little By Little 19. She Is Love 20. Songbird 21. Lyla Maybe in a random order.

When they put it out I fucking hope they don't call it: "best of, greatest hits, simply the best or 1994 to ...."
This is the best fucking band ever. Give it a proper title like: "Oasis Anthems, Live forever or Follow this".

I'd be against the idea of a greatest hits because if they released an album entitled "Greatest Hits" fans would be going "where's this track or that track". If anything along the lines of a compilation, Oasis would be better off releasing just an album of their singles. If anything to introduce casual listeners to Oasis and get people to go out and get "Definately Maybe" and "(What's The Story) Morning Glory" and so on and so forth. Even include linear notes about how "Definately Maybe" out sold the Beatles' "Please Please Me" to become the fastest selling debut album in the U.K., show how well Oasis does around the world with how high the songs went in the charts, and give casual American listeners a chance to really see what Oasis was about and show they did more than just "Wonderwall".

I think another problem which we have sort of seen in this thread is the fact that Oasis fans especially have such different views on what their favourite Oasis songs actually are. Undoubtedly there would countless people annoyed about the tracklist, especially when it comes to albums like BHN SOTDOG and HC, as people have completely different views on them. The only thing i do know is that Little James wouldnt be on there. (bet somebody now says it should )
