that's Molson Canadian for you strangers. Best beer in the world.
We've got the best female singers in the world and now it looks like the boys are catching up.
Move over UK, there's a new champion. Thanks for dropping the crown Oasis.

Not bad at all. They sound a little bit like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

I don't expect an album to have the same impact as DM, I'm not a big fan of MG and I know Oasis aren't the biggest band in the world.
I've moved on, don't you worry...

I do expect an album like WTSMG. But clearly Archer and Bell can't deliver the goods. If that wasn't clear after HC then it's crystal clear now. They're a good band. But what Noel failed to realize was that good music isn't made by the best musicians. Three chords, harmony, three chords, solo and out with a boatload of attitude. They're trying to be Led Zepplin or something... Beatles, I don't know what, really... Rock N Roll Star, Supersonic, Morning Glory, Bring it On Down -- that's their bread and butter. There'd better be some f#$king butter on that bread or you can toast them.

yeah? And you know what sweetie, that picture you've got of bonehead WAS Oasis. He left some years ago as did their attitude I'm afraid. I hope the rest of the album isn't as bad Lyla or they won't get a Label to touch them.

No they're not. They're just trying to be Oasis - everything and nothing youve heard before. Yeah -- BUT WHY DO THEY SOUND LIKE THE IRISH ROVERS? Layla - heard that one before? "See if you can spot this one..." Eric Clapton ring a bell ? Shit... They're manager must be on crack... if Oasis even has a manager... didn't they fire him to?

They sound like 'THE IRISH ROVERS'? I think your the one on crack son. Oh really? Go and download an Irish Rover song. I think you'll find Lyla. The chorus is awful. Just awful. There's an accordion playing in the background. Yes, I get the sexual lyrics -- blow me -- etc. Kind of funny, but I just can't get over the chorus. It's so bad. Now check out Boy - a band with balls - and you'll find the Oasis you wanted. www.boytheband.com/home.phpNow fill your boots with some music son.

Your kidding me?!!! *note to oneself - write to Noel and tell him to stop putting the sound of instruments other than guitars in his songs* As for 'boy' great name by the way. Look like a bunch of students to me. Need to get themselves some decent haircuts.

For the record "they're" = "they are", you're looking for "their". Secondly, I am from Vancouver as well- and I must say- you're quite obviously missing what the whole point of oasis has been since day one. The fact is mate, believe it or not (and it seems you may have a hard time with this since you seem to think everything associated with YOU is as good as it gets) Oasis haven’t made this single or this album for YOU. They've done just as they have done before- put out music that they believe is quality- and if you sat in Vancouver with your "holier than thou" top hat on, don't like it, well then too fuckin bad! Go buy something from the New Age section----or go listen to Boy on a loop---no one is bothered at the loss of your spoon like qualities. I'm sure the band will be just as happy that you don't show up at their gigs and that you don't buy the single- because you are lost on the essence of its very purpose. BTW- I think Lyla is great---certainly not world changing--- but it’s a catchy poptastic comeback. I was driving around doing some errands today--windows down--sun shining--and Lyla blaring---it put a smile on my face. I've played it to a few mates that generally aren’t Oasis fans and I've not had one negative comment. Oh and BTW again----if you think Molson Canadian is the best beer in the world-----well.....that pretty much sums this whole post up.

i saw boy at a music festival a few years ago in guelph near toronto. they were announced as being from whitehorse which is the capital city of the Yukon in Canada (which for you americans is the large gray mass of land north of you on the map ). i remember them as being a good sort of grunge-pop band-they seem to have gone deeper into the fuzz-feedback sound for their second album and have, indeed, begun to sound a lot like BRMC. Which is not such a bad thing. the band that really blew me away at that festival were the Broken Social Scene...now there is a great canadian band !!!

Played that Boy The Band.
Where's the Melody.
It's ok.
Sounds like BRMC meets Secret Machines.
Paloalto is a band people should check out. Especially Heroes & Villians.
