Oasis could have released any of "Fade Away", "Acquiesce", "The Masterplan", "Stay Young" or "Let's All Make Believe" as a-sides instead of the real a-sides (CAA, SMS, WW, DYKWIM, GLIO) and it would not have made any difference whatsoever in terms of chart position.

are you joking? its an amazing tune!! ;D Idler's Dream rules! should have been A-Sides... Acquiesce The Masterplan Step Out (would have been on the album if Noel didn't get sued.... bastards!) Carry Us All sorry but i disagree with earlier... D'You Know What I Mean? is an anthem... (I personally prefer it to Stay Young) I have friends who hate Oasis but they still know the word to that song.

Acquiesce, although no-one can argue with Some Might Say as an A-side.
The Masterplan's another, but Wonderwall's one of the songs of its generation, same applies to Cigarettes n Alcohol which gave us Listen Up and Fade Away.
Basically Oasis have had many awesome B-sides, but the A-sides have always warranted that status IMO.

pretty much every b-side from the Definitely Maybe/Morning Glory era should have been a A-Side.

Step Out was suppose to be on Morning Glory. But Stevie Wonder threatened to sue the band.

i know- didn't he want 10% of morning glory's royalties if it was going to be on the album? they should have given him a check for $1. he wouldn't have noticed. (just kidding guys, but it would have been hysterical)

yeah something like that, he wanted royalties, shows the type of guy Wonder is. Noel joked one time saying that Wonder couldn't approve the artwork so they didn't put it on the album.

Well, certainly Acquiesce (could've been a double-A side with Some Might Say). And without a doubt, Let's All Make Believe - better than ANYTHING on SOTSOG.
But my big pick would be "Round Are Way" - IMO, Round Are Way and Roll With It should've switched places. I really like Roll With It, but it's less assuming and light - it would have made a great b-side. "Round Are Way" should have been on the album and should have been the group's lead single for Morning Glory.
Had "Round Are Way" gone up against Blur's "Country House" - oh man. It would have been an ideal matchup, esp. b/c "Round Are Way," is so British with its horns and its portrait of working-class Manchester life. It would have been perfect against "Country House," and it's a really fun song too. It would have made it to Number 1, methinks.

I haven't listened much of the b-sides, but from what I've heard nearly every b-side from the first two albums, could have been as easily as a-side. I also think that they should've put more acoustic songs on "Be Here Now" which is great album, but could've worked better if it was mellowed a little bit with more acoustic songs.
From the last two records "Let's All Make Believe" and "Cigarettes in Hell" definitely should have been a-sides, as well as "Carry us All" from the same album sessions. They could've worked better than those two shite songs "I Can Be a Liar" and "PYMWYMI".
"Thank You For Your Good Times" as an Andy Bell-song should've been in the place of "(a quick) peep". Or along with it. Also "Idler's Dream" is also great song and could also be easily put in the album as well as "Shout it Out Loud"...
