I mean is anyone worried about this new album?
it isn't all Noel anymore.
We know Liam's songs started to get better on HC, and Andy and Gem have writen songs in the past. Noel also states Bob Dylan as an influence on this record...
but is anyone else worried that this Oasis album, might not sound like the oasis we know and love?
sure it'll be the same guys...but will it still sound like Oasis?

It depends. A Bell Will Ring was pretty Oasis-sounding song IMO. While I'm not confident it'll be on the record, it's probably reasonably indicative of how they're writing at the moment. I'd be very suprised if we end up with an album like Morning Glory or Definately Maybe, but something not far off Heathen Chemistry is not out of the question. Of course, I wouldn't mind another Standing on the Shoulder of Giants-type record, as I really like a number of songs on that album. It's not nearly as radio-friendly, which means that's unlikely, but it'd still be cool.
I mainly expect something along the lines of songs like Hung In a Bad Place and Force of Nature... I'm hoping for a couple straight-ahead rockers like Rock N Roll Star or Cigarettes and Alcohol though, cause those are the ones I enjoy playing the most (and rest assured that I'll learn at least a few songs from the new album - I've done that with all the other records...),

I wouldn't be suprised if I like Liam, Andy and Gem's songs more at first as I expect them to be your typical oasis songs, whereas I reckon Noels songs will be a bit different and might have to grow on me...
Hopefully we'll know before too long!

And I still stand by the fact that it's an excellent record. SOTSOG was a huge disappointment for me, and HC was good in the sense that it made me want to buy the next one a lot...which is the record we're waiting on now. It's not really fair to say what the album is going to sound like before we've heard it...I would never have pegged SOTSOG as being so...out there (especially as Noel said that he wanted the album to sound like it was produced in 1999, not 1969...), but it was. I'm just hoping for are kid's voice to be in good form, and for no more than 2 Noel songs on this one (that is, Noel sung songs, I'll take a whole album of Noel written ones). |

personally i get fed up with all the so called oasis fans when the new album comes out blah blah blah to the replys of people saying this album is gonna be special on par with the first 2, why you on about the first 2 all the time for gods sake that was 10 - 11 years ago now and i'd hate another 'morning glory ' type album cos it's been done before and they'd get slated even if the songs were on par with c supernova etc cos the critics would say 'oasis still doing the same old shit' , sotsog was'nt great but not bad either and heathen chemistry was really good and the closest sounding to morning glory your gonna get, oasis need a change to keep people intrested and with bonehead - guigsy - alan gone the chemistry they had is not there to get that sound back but with andy liam and gem bringing songs to the table im really looking forward to hearing new stuff like with the beatles if they had only 1 song writter they'd never have been the same band after 2 - 3 records but cos 3 contributed they always seemed fresh and different, which i hope is the case, i want different sounding oasis now and if it dont work well they can revert back but experiment at least for a while i hope.

Hey, I *was* blown away when I heard BHN. I SECOND THAT ....i still love that lp i can give a fuck wat critics or even fans say to me its classic..all around the world..dont go away..magic pie..dya know wat i mean..its gettin better man..stand by me...any other band that released 6 tunes like that on 1 lp would be considered a phenom but OASIS get slagged off causde of DM AND GLORY...WAT WILL THE NEXT LP SOUND LIKE  like LIAM,S sneer AND NOELS melodies with a great rock supportin trio which means it will FUCKIN ROCK ...as usual...im stoked |

I love BHN too...prolly my 2nd fav album by oasis...next to mornin glory. I agree Kalas about BHN having great tunes, i think u missed my fav tho which is Be here now itself. Oasis' next album IS going to FUCKING rock
