What do they sing at the end of some live performances of Whatever? It's something like "I'll be your blues, carry the news" Is it from Octopus garden or any other song?

It's from Mott the Hoople's song "All the young Dudes" (carry the news).

They do sometimes add a few lines from Octopus's Garden, though.

It's from Mott the Hoople's song "All the young Dudes" (carry the news). The melody and phrasing is from all the young dudes, but they sing "All the young BLUES carry the news", instead, which is a manchester united thing...I think?

doesn't he sing something like "and i'd like to be under the sea..." That would be octopus' garden by none other than the beatles. I think we get the point: Whatever often segues into other songs as a coda, such as Octopus' Garden and Mott the Hoople's (penned by David Bowie) song All the Young Dudes.

I think my favorite Whatever ending is probably the extended "and I know it's alright" thing that Noel did at the Superdry.
