Oasis are and have been my favorite band since I'd heard of them, but as a boy growing up in Texas, I don't know anyone other than my best friend who know's oasis as well as I do. Infact the only thing other people know is wonderwall. I wanted to know if oasis are still a top recognized band in the U.K, and if they were to ever play knebworth again, would they beat robbies record?

and your totally right too. But thats not what I mean! I'm asking if they get good air time over there because here I never get to hear about them. It's hard to convince people hear that they are the greatest band ever! when you never hear about them. It just seems like it would be cooler to live where more people are into the same music as I am.

eveybody knows oasis in my school; but mostly for me! ;D Im the only big fan; many of my mates like it, but just wonderwall, dlbia and little by little. It is big for ppl who like rock; dunno in other countrys; but here in argentina, almost everybody knows bout em, they played here 5 times, maybe thats why. But the ones who are into pop just know wonderwall...

I compare Oasis in the States to Soccer in the States. Soccer is the biggest sport in the world, yet not in America. Oasis has to be one of the most recognizable and consistantly top selling bands in the world. Oasis obviously has there die hard fans here, but aren't really that mainstream anymore.

it doesn't matter how big you are, but how GOOD you are. and they are good believe me! oh yesh. being from hawaii, i don't hear much oasis either on the radio. except on a freak incident in a grocery store hearing 'she is love.' i got into oasis during the wtsmg era, and oasis was played a LOT. bhn also was played a bit too...after that....just kinda dropped off the radar in hawaii....sucks! now it's a lot of crap....so once in a while i listen to virgin radio broadband...and personally running into fellow oasis fans(who know how friggin awesome they are) is infrequent... ....i've too also wondered how it'd be like to hear oasis on tv/radio more frequently....but s'okay. maybe i should just be making my friends listen to it....yeah...people in the us are missing out.....totally.... gee...what a bunch of rambling! heeee....

Oasis are still a big band in the UK but nowhere near as big as they used to be around 95-98ish period.
When a new oasis record comes out the majority of the music listening public are interested to see what it's like, this is mainly due to their earlier success. Nowadays Oasis tend to still have their hardcore fanbase and lots of people who 'like' the band. They have become more of a cult band over here but one in which everyone else still take some interest in.
