I believe Oasis do have a big following in the U.S. It may not show in cd sales, but the 3 times i have seen the band live, the crowd has been electric. A huge crowd was on hand in Atlanta (May 2000) and at both shows i saw in Detroit (2001, 2002). Live they absolutely rock! Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah yeah yeah!

wot? that means oasis are somewhat bigger in the states than in germany. only 3 of the 4 postponed 2003 shows were sold out (5k att.) and even that took hours
on the other hand: HC entered the album charts in the first week at #4

remember, the u.s. is a much bigger country than germany with a much more eclectic taste in music. obviously they're not as big as they were in 1996, but oasis still has a following here but very overshadowed.

the way a lot of people feel here in the states it's like maybe I should be going to therapy for appreciating there music.... stand up in front of people and say like "hello, my name is Rob and I love........OAS....IS (gulp)"... but I say fuck 'em all, americans got shit taste in music, I'm 29 and can't believe a lot of the shit that people listen to these days... I think most americans didn't know how to take the Gallagher humor, and don't understand the way they make songs, b/c americans have a hard time in listening to music that has melody and feeling to it... but I would like to say, this doesn't account for every american, when I do acoustic shows, I always play quite a bit of Oasis songs mixed with my own, and the audiences really do like the songs, they always ask me who wrote most of them b/c they have never heard most Oasis songs except for Wonderwall, Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, and maybe Don't Go Away.. that's about it, but anyways, the lager is calling me.... later Rob

In Rolling Stone i only saw HC in the top 50 once at around #40. I wasn't aware it debuted at #4. Must have taken a big tumble quickly. This is a band that i have turned several friends on to. The sad thing is a lot of people once they move on from a band, they don't go back. Foolish.

While perhaps not possessing the sheer numbers other bands can boast of, the rabidness of oasis fans in the states should never be underestimated. i'd honestly place them amongst the most hell-bent i've seen.

american Oasis fans are great! Last show I went to was at the Hard Rock in Orlando in 2002, the audience was great (except for the drunk shirtless guy in front of me..... sweaty bastard!) and afterwards, I went to a party in downtown Orlando for the fans and had a great time talking to a lot of really good people who all just absolutely loved the band... so, there are some here who have good taste in music! cheers! Rob

personally, i'm glad that the states have written off oasis. that means that when the boys come to town they play small theaters instead of arenas. it's a thousand times better to see oasis in a theater. i saw them at the fox theater in detroit and i was maybe 30 ft from the stage. even if you were in the back row of the place, it felt like you were close to the stage. it rocked!

Yeah, I had 8th row seats for Chicago, 2002. The crowd was insane. As much as I would like to see Oasis gain a larger following here, it is nice to get really good seats. I also got to see that fat fuck from SOOL up close

I had balcony seats at the Fox Theatre show and still had a great view. Only drag was having to hold the chick i was with up (a little to much zinfandel). Great set, great night.
