What do you think? Personally I love Standing on The Shoulder of Giants. Noel has said that the first three Oasis albums were like one big one (even though Im sure It's only WTSMG and BHN that are similar.). Do you (like me) really think the different sound emphasis on this album is class? I like the bass and drum beats, and the soloing is more creative and it's different from the rest of Noels stuff. He said he'd come out with a different album, and he did, but it didn't get the same response as any of the other albums. Do you think this album is underrated?

i think that noel's sotsog songs, on the album & b-sides, are brilliant. but the problem with the singles are that before sotsog, all b-sides had 3 non-lp songs. from 2000 on, it's been only 2.

It's definitely underated. It's just differnet from every other album.
More down beat, which perhaps people don't like.

takes a while to get into, but I think "Gas Panic" and "Where did it all go wrong" are two of Noel's best songs

Definitely underated. It is a very complex album, and probably the most different...not the usual Oasis but then i don't think it's their best work either. But still underated. Sunday Morning Call and Gas Panic are fantastic.

It is, after HC my less favourite oasis-album. FITB is proper rocknroll, gas panic is like a little stairway to heaven, and roll with is is pure mellow, which i think is a brilliant song. WDIAGW is cool acoustic but sounds shit on the album, same with sunday morning call. The rest of the songs are imo shit (in comparison to other oasis-songs). And about the solos, i like m more the way its done on DM or BHN, i dont realy like these slowed down psychidelic solos...

underated without a doubt probably my second favourite oasis album. However its probably my second favourite because its underated and hasnt been overplayed like morning glory if that makes sense. Whenever i listen to it i can enjoy it because i havnt heard the songs 1 billion times before.

i think the record was hurt by the inclusion of i can see a liar and put your money where your mouth is... i would have loved to have lets all make believe somewhere instead. but, yeah, overall i think it is actually quite grand and i really love the production on tracks 1 2 3 5 6 8 10. i think the where did it all go wrong demo is better than the LP version. and the gas panic demo was great and should have been a b-side. i wonder how many different versions there are that no one's heard. i really hope we'll get a boxed set of alternate takes sometime in the future, especially with knowledge of the relatively recent death in vegas stuff and such

Little James is a sorry excuse for a song.
It might come from the heart but it is pure, unadulterated tosh and deserves no airplay. ever.
Sing it to the kid privately, don't inflict it on the public and certianly not on the fans.
Liam has proved he is a credible song writer and it's a shame he's got this to his name.

I think that I can see a liar is a great song, but it doesn't sounds really well in the album, in the live perfomances sounds amazing , fucking rock. SOTSOG is a great album but some songs seems that they've been made quick and the don't soun as good as they are and I think the noel demos of the album are much better than the final album.

Where Did It All Go Wrong? is one of my favourite Oasis songs, i quite like SOTSOG but since it Oasis have not been appreciated. I feel that my school friends would like Oasis more if Noel wasn't slated after SOTSOG was released. I'd love to see Fucking In the Bushes actually performed live and i'd love to see Where Did It All Go Wrong brought back to the setlists (along with Sunday Morning Call).

i think that some of the songs are really good, such as FITB, gas panic, WDIGW. yet i feel some of the other songs like PYMWYMI, ICSAL, little james are really not that good. yet i feel the album as a whole is pretty good... yet i can never understand it when people say this is a better album than heathen chemistry. i know everyone has their own opinion but nearly every song on HC is good-wel good. but there is only a couple on SOTSOG i could say about that... anyway... my opinion

the best songs: 2. Go let it Out 3. Who Feels Love 5. Little James (yes I like it very, very much) 6. Gaz Panic! 7. Where Did All Go Wrong? 8. Sunday Morning Call 10. Roll It Over
Moderate: 1. Fuckin' in the Bushes (somehow blatant...)
Bad 1. PYMWYMI 9. ICSAL
P.S. I really like Little James regardless all the harsh words. I think it's fantastic song... Let's All Make Believe it's better than the blatant rockers...

I gotta say that Sunday Morning Call is one of my favorite Oasis songs... almost every time I do an acoustic gig I play this, and almost everyone loves it and always asks who it's by, when I tell them Oasis, they're all like "reeeeaaalllyyy???" yea, so go and buy there fookin' album! I'm like the Oasis messiah of Florida, bringing class music to the masses (or at least those who show up to my gigs!) cheers! Rob

Rob you too??? i play that all the time. i'm like the noel of my band- whenever they need to rest, i take out my acoustic, and just play alone. i usually play sunday morning call, wonderwall, stay young, and/or married with children (on the 3rd capo of course ;D). but that's just oasis ;D i also play acoustically: you've got to hide your love away, going to california (gotta put some zep), and rem's try not to breathe

the thing about this album is that you really don't like it at first. your first reaction is: "what the fuck??" then, after a while, you like the first track, then the second. then you skip all the other songs until you finally learn to like it.
this is a classic example of an album you grow to love.

Good album, my least favourite of the studio albums but its still a far better album than most bands can produce. I like all the songs barring Little James, I can see a Liar and Put yer Money where yer Mouth Is. The live version of Who Feels Love wipes the floor with the studio version though!
