Contrary to what i said in my last post, i dont think rock n roll is about not caring what people think coz EVERYONE cares what people think..whether they admit it or not!! RocknRoll IMO is simply about being HAPPY with yourself and what you do!!!!!!!!!

I disagree. And you may not believe me on this one, but if a bunch of goofy foureyes made songs like acquiesce, rocknroll star, columbia, sms, etc. I believe that is rocknroll. Imo, its the music that is rocknroll, not the person behind it. Rocknroll is a style of music, not a style of person or image. You cant be classical too, or electro. Its just the image of the great, bigmouthed rocknroll heros from earlier days that makes people think that you cant make/be rocknroll unless you are like this. And i believe Liam thinks so too, and noel doesnt. Liam is imo constantly thinking about his image or what people think of him or that he has to look cool. Of course he is a workingclass loudmouth, of course he likes to fight, but I think he desperately wants people to see that too... Interesting discussion by the way.... status: waiting for replies.. rock n roll started as music but now like it or not has an image aswell. i can admit that if there was a band of "goofy foureyes" that made great songs i wouldnt like them as much as i would if they looked cool. If your in a rock n roll band youve gotta look cool. I hate all these bands that look average, ok so they might be nice guys and really down to earth but thats just fucking boring. Oasis are a better band because of liam gallaghers attitude. The difference between going to see coldplay to going to see oasis is that you no coldplay will go through the set with no controversy, they will just walk on play the songs say thanx and bye and that will be it, yawn! When you go to see oasis you never no what your gonna get and this is more or less solely down to the sheer presence of liam. He could be great or he could be shit at least he's not fucking boring. |

And of course i like it when someone looks cool, as long as he is not desperiely trying to look cool. and i think liam does that. And i think most of the oasis gigs go like, they come up, good evening (insert venue), play their songs, maybe a little joke in between, and they go off. End of show. There are lots of exceptions though. But take a look at the strokes. Their gig is like, hello, songs, end. Thats it! what I DO like about oasis, and i think is rocknroll, is that they sound completely different live than on the record. Extra solos, louder guitars, i love that. what im trying to say, is that i like rocknroll is to me, the music. I also think (not only in rocknroll but in everything in life) that everyone should be himself, and not trying to pretend to be some other kind of person. If youre cool, youre cool. If your a foureye, youre a foureye, but please, do not try to be someone else. And im not saying liam is trying to be someone else, but i do think that he wants to be/look even more cooler than he his. cheers |
