Zak's drumming just doesn't fit the band.

I can see your point but RingoJr sounds awesome on My Generation and if that is a taste of what is too come I say keep him.
Remember he's only played at two gigs

My Generation is the track he's played for million times. Still his drumming which is way too slow and ignoring Alan's parts just isn't that good. Two gigs for a professional means everything. He had rehearsals with the band, right?

How many gigs did Steve White play with oasis? He was much better than Zak and Alan, he's a professional drummer, Paul Weller knows it

Well, like it or not Steve nor Alan will never gonna b the drummer for oasis (again -alan).
Steve said in his website or somethin like that, that the reason that his brother left the band was not because of problems with his wrists but there was problems with noel n liam (they wanted to have the full rights of all the songs that they wrote -noel n liam)... problem was... on most or some songs alan was the one who actually created the composed/modified the drums parts... so u figure it out...
Steve also said that after wat happened to his brother, there is no way that his going to drum for oasis ever again, (whether as a part time drummer or a full time)
i cud give u his direct words... but i forgot wer i saved the web page....
anyway, i don like Zak's drumming... TOO FUCKIN SLOW... Don't look back in anger sounds crap with him on the drums.... I like d trills dat alan used to do

I also think that if this is true Indo ShakermakeR, nor Alan, nor Steve will EVER drum for Oasis.
I still hope that Zak will contribute as well as possible in the band. I don't defy him as a drummer. Let's hope next albums will be as great as all albums.

i'll be honest, as a guitarist, i don't listen to the drums that often. Too me they are there to keep time and make things loud. And please don't take that personally drummer people. In many ways i envy you. Because you have found space to set up your drums. You have taken on the responsability of some thing far greater then that which can be kept in a case. And you boast Phil Collins as one of yours Anyway my 2 questions to you drummer guys is this: 1 Would Ringo (in his revolver-abbey road era) fit in with the current oasis? 2 If you could bring any drummer, in his prime, from any british group from the golden era of brit rock (1963, when beatles first blew up to 1980 with the death of Bonham, Lennon and Punk), who would you choose. waiting on suspended chord, dreaming of the perfect drumroll, for your reply.

I think Zak's alrite, he's awesome in The Who but perhaps doesn't fit the Oasis sound.
Terry Kirkbride of Proud Mary is a damn good drummer and would fit in the Oasis line up IMO, unfortunately I very much doubt he'll join the band.

Ringo was a crap drummer, no wonder Paul substituted him once in a while. He was alright for early Beatles' era but couldn't improve himself when their music became more sophisticated. I would chose that guy from The Police (yes, that band with Sting on bass).

Jesus guys, do you realy all think that its Zakk's fault that hes drumming too slow? Hes rehearsed with the band and believe you me, when Liam or Noel thinks hes playing too slow, theyll tell him that right away! I think its a BANDS DECISION that the drummings slowed down.
I do agree about the fact that steve white is better than alan or zakk
cheers...

the problem is that alan didn't teach the songs to zak and no one couldn't so he did what he could. Oasis drumming will never sounds as yesterday. The best drummer for oasis would be the deff leppard drummer...hahaha

How about Tony McCarroll? (just kidding)
I too thought the band sounded their best on that US tour with Steve White on drums - judging by the bootlegs anyway. He also seemed to be really into it, really energetic, as opposed to his brother who towards the end seemed to be going through the motions a little.
I'm no drummer but I didn't think Zak Starkey got close to Steve White at Glasto (although it wasn't the best performance all round to be honest, particularly from Liam).

I realy think there isnt much difference in quality between zak and alan. I think its just a new direction of the band.

I think that Alan White was a good drummer. I haven't listen to his brother, but I think that Alan was fit for the drumplace and he did his best while he was in Oasis, although his drumming in last 2 albums wasn't so energetic as it was in Morning Glory and Be Here Now. So I really think that it was a new direction of the band.
Throwing Alan was mistake, because for me Alan was as original member of the band as Noel and Liam were. So I was greatly disappointed of this departure of one of the most nice and pleasent-looking members of the band.
