Oh God this is a tough decision...but for me Liam is Oasis' best asset full stop.
So his voice i spose....
but Noel's songwriting is unbelievably amazing, i mean to write Live Forever for your mum is fantastic!
And to sing sunshine like "sunshiiiiiiineeee" is just as fantastic, well even more so cos Liam sings it ;D

If I had to pick one it would be Liams voice

A good singer singing a crap song will still sound crap yeah but the Stereophonics have still prolonged their career using this tactic for far too long....  Gotta go with Noel's songwriting - his early songs anyway. You cant ignore the classics. In recent years i'd say Liam is carrying the band more than anyone though |

altough oasis is a band not just noels songwriting and liam's singing! and a crap singer singing good songs won't do so i agree with that!

Let's be serious. Noel's songwriting is their greatest asset.
If it wasn't for Noel's songs then Liam, Guigs, Tony and Bonehead would still be living in Manchester playing to about 3 people, and they would never have released an album.
When Oasis went to the USA without Liam, Noel handled the vocal duties and they were recieved well enough. The MTV Unplugged gig is better for Noel doing the singing.

It Must Be The Music.. written by Noel. Noel cannot only write songs but can also sing quite well (Dont Look Back In Anger #1 single, Little By Little #2) Liam wouldn't be able to sing anything if it wasn't for Noel's lyrics. Granted Liam's voice brings those songs to life but Oasis' success was and still is based on Noel's knack for writting (pinching riffs here an there) and arrangements.
Oasis might have "stayed in Machester for the rest of their lives" if it wasn't for Noel's great songs.
