In 2002, Yugoslavia won basketball World Cup. During the half-time of the semifinals, coach Pesic angrily ostracized Radmanovic from the team because Radmanovic was eating a banana in the change room while Pesic was giving instructions 🤣 Radmanovic watched rest of the game and final game from the stands. After the final, there was another controversy at the podium during the medal ceremony as Pesic instructed Aleksandar Smiljanic (who was on the preliminary roster but did not make the final cut) to put on Radmanovic's jersey and to receive a gold medal instead of Radmanovic. Radmanovic then was promising NBA player and Smiljanic was average European player who wasn't even part of the team that was playing but he got his gold medal 🤣 Anyway, here is Aleksandar Smiljanic in 2002  |
