My grandparents lived in Leiden until they died in 2008 and 2011. My favourite city after Delft and Rotterdam. Can't stand Amsterdam.

The issue Rotterdam has, that they don't have such historical buildings/houses anymore because of the bomb they had during the WWII. I've been down to the South for a weekend last month and it was nice. We can travel from east to west within 2 hours and from south to north in 4 hours and that's the advantage of living in a small country. Also we can go for shopping in Germany and Belgium in one day and UK is only 45 minutes away by a plane. |

Not only despise the architecture, but also the "Neanderthal mentality" here. Think that the people in Amsterdam also have a good sense of humor, but here, people are dull, humorless. And I am not the only one who thinks that Rotterdam is a good place to leave behind if you're born there; my best friend is also saving money to leave, he doesn't like it for the same reasons actually. Though there are some nice parts here, outside of the city center, I wouldn't recommend living here. Ugly LEGO-like city... Yep, that's true. Can travel myself for fifteen minutes to enter a whole other world, like Dordrecht or Delft. As for going South...I really want to go to Limburg next time, it has been more than two decades already since I've been there. I loved it back there. |
