Let's discuss the set list for the U.S. Tour. What songs do you think will be a LOCK for the gigs?
In my opinion: Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Little By Little, Songbird, which are the three biggest songs off the last album, are all LOCKS.
Lyla, of course, the monsterous first single off Don't Believe The Truth, is a LOCK.
Champagne Supernova, the biggest Oasis anthem of all time, is a LOCK.
Don't Look Back In Anger, another anthem and a given for a live Oasis gig, LOCK.
Live Forever, one of their biggest hits of all time, is probably a LOCK.
So there are seven songs right there, if they don't play ALL of them, I will be extremely surprised. They represent DM, WTSMG, HC and DBTT. Can you think of any songs off of either Be Here Now or Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants that would be absolute locks for them to play on the upcoming tour? (Or any other songs that I may have missed.) Remember, this is not a discussion on songs you'd LIKE them to play, but rather the songs that they are 100% sure to play. (And I know, of course, that they will likely play a half-dozen songs from the new album, so I didn't count those.)
DISCUSS!

Oh, and maybe I forgot The Hindu Times as well, but I'm still not too sure on that one. (Songbird will likely come during the encore, and if they don't play SCYHO I will go home PISSED)

they must play ROLL WITH IT. It will not be a complete Oasis gig for me without that one. I think it's a lock. It's been in almost every set list since it was written. That and Supersonic.

Live Forever Cigarettes n Alcohol Wonderwall Don't Look Back In Anger Lyla Keep The Dream Alive Acquiese
Add Rock n Roll Star, Supersonic and Champagne Supernova to that, possibly Little by Little but Noel's singing DLBIA and probably songs from the new album...
Doubt we'll hear SCYHO after the performance at Glastonbury

SCYHO I'm sure they'll play it if Liam can handle it, but if it sounds bad during rehearsals, they probably won't. The only thing wrong with it at Glasto was Liam's voice.

I really do wish Oasis would dump Supersonic, Shakermaker, Live forever, DLBIA, Some Might Say and all the same old tired songs they play every tour.
its no wonder they look a little bored up there at times playing the same songs over and over again, every night, for every tour, for 10 yrs now. Its time these songs were retired.
They should do loadsa stuff from the new album, the three singles released from HC, GLIO, FITB, some tunes from BHN and then some b sides that they havent done for a while like Fade Away and Stay Young etc
They have so many awesome tunes and Ive seen them do those songs enough time live. No-one wants a nostalgia fest - its 2005 not 1995.
As amazing as the old songs are, they should show some fucking imagination basically.
I sincerely doubt they will tho.

Going by what Noel has said recently and what they say about the new songs I think Live Forever and Don't Look Back In Anger are the only classics that are certain to be in. Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall have both been left out before, and Noel has said they are looking dig deeper into their back catalogue this time around. I can also see Let There Be Love replacing Champagne Supernova as the flag-waving epic for this tour.
As for the new stuff, Lyla is obvious, Noel seems to love Mucky Fingers and was discussing how tough Idle will be to sing live, so they are definites. He also called Keep The Dream Alive a 'live staple for years' so that must be in. They were also all talking up Love Like A Bomb as a single so that will be there as well. Given that A Bell Will Ring and Meaning Of Soul were played last summer I can see them being there as well.

As I said before in some other thread: They should play a LOT of new tunes, I mean at least 8 but more would be even better.. That would show to the crowd that they trust their new album and like it. Good promotion also.. There´s no point to make a world-tour and play just their biggest hits and three new songs and get bored. Just my opinion.

Maybe YOU have seen those songs enough already live, but not me, as the Tweeter Center show will be my FIRST Oasis concert. I for one, will be madly disappointed if they don't do SCYHO, DLBIA, SMS, CS, LF, and all of the other great songs that made me MADFERRRRRRRRIT and made them the great band that they are today. (And, of course, I wanna hear Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Lyyyyyyylaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa as well! )

(And, of course, I wanna hear Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Lyyyyyyylaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa as well! ) wot would u rather? a blisteringly fresh Oasis performance or a limp sing-a-long ala Glasto 04? If Oasis took the time to look at their back catalogue they might be suprised to find a bunch of fucking amazing tunes that they never play. Instead of DLBIA, SMS, CS, LF how about Half the World Away, Stay Young, All Around The World and Stand By Me? Its just a little freshening up thats all. Btw, I hope Noel does the bluesy Ryan Adams version of Wonderwall...that would be superb!

Ya Don't Go Away would be Killer I think A Bell Will Ring is a lock from the new record, get a song by Gem in there, a la Hung in a Bad Place in 2002. Agreed tho they should do Wonderwall in the acoustic bluesy style in the States. North American casual fans come to hear that song, but mixing the style up like Noel did in 2002 was a treat and probs less boring to play
