well, at least it's only one of 13 or 14 tunes....
if there were only 10 tracks on the album and "the meaning of soul'' was one of em, i'd be right pissed.
it ain't much of a song, i don't tend to enjoy the 2:00 minute Oasis tunes if ya know what i mean?

Yeah, the studio version probably will be very good.... I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but Oasis didn't have such energetic tune since 97... and maybe there will be some new lyrics, like The Hindu Times which as first performed at the Noise and Confusion tour...

Meaning of Soul id a stright rocker fastest Oasis tune since headshrinker. They cant all be anthems u know. Before we slag it off we need to hear the studio version. I do like that they are writing some fast songs though

It's a shite tune, regardless of the possibility that they might have done a nice recording. Good Oasis tunes have always been a pleasure to be played acoustically. I really hope this all ain't true...

but also have to think about are they playing the whole song cause i remember when i hear Hindu times live during the Noise and confusion tour it wasn't the same lyrics as the record....so there could be more to meaning of soul

stop this fucking cynical depressing negativism. the song may be well different from glastonbury. the way glastonbury went if they debuted champagne supernova as a tune you would probably say it was shite as well. if it's on the album then i reckon its good. if noel and andy, along with gem and liam can't scrap together a dozen quality tunes in 3 years, then something is majorly fucking wrong. that's why i think it will be top.

Come on, dude... Whatever you do with that song - you just can't disguise an awful melody. It's just soooo bad. 'The Masterplan' released as a b-side - those were the days...

i am willing to bet that not only will it be better than you think, but will be a live favorite on the tour. it could be an almost totally different tune- there is no songwriting rule about changing a song once it's named. also, noel could just be taking the piss cause he knows it didn't go down so well.

I challenge anyone on here to listen to say, the Barrowlands bootlegs and tell me Hung in a Bad Place or The Hindu Times sound like good songs...

I like Meaning Of Soul alot. Its got balls, which quite frankly has been missing from Oasis from a long time apart form the odd glimmer of edginess (....ing in The Bushes mainly). I miss the days when Oasis meant Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic, and Rock And Roll Star and not the sub 90's 'epic' dross that spoilt the good bits on Heathen Chemistry.
Personally I'm glad that someone in the band has put a bit of spirit, and cranked up he guitars a bit. Oasis should be a guitar band and NOT a pub rock band which is what they have been lapsing into on every album since Morning Glory.
