some cool stuff from The Great Wide Open festival on youtube You can watch her full set on here: 3voor12.vpro.nl/tv/#/42393647/45092014/26eva just told me that she's playing at the Crossing Border Festival in November. I really would love to go to see her, but I already have 4 gigs in November (Miles Kane, London Calling weekend and Noel), so I'm afraid I can't.

Just getting into her now. Never heard of her until recently, but I'm glad I checked her out. Absolutely gorgeous voice.

I saw her in York the other night, tbh as much as I adore Laura I found it completely pretentious.
The sound was awful, and I felt no connection to the music. The crowd were a bunch of toffs too.
I hope Laura's not starting to believe her own hype: "I'm so twee and fragile and English etc".
She did play Flicker and Fail though, and another new song that I've not heard anywhere before.

I didn't get that feeling when I saw her in May. the complete opposite to be honest. I found her quite shy and maybe feeling a bit awkward with herself on stage. but when she sang it was fantastic

The recording I have of the York show actually sounds clearer than it did in person. Less echo.

the sound is more of an issue on this tour as it is in venues that arn't set up for gigs, it was decent in winchester but not great.

I've only heard one of her songs. But 'England (White as Snow)' or whatever it was called, was one of the most transfixing things I have ever heard. Her voice was pure magic. Bravo, Laura...bravo.
