Bought the vinyl last week. Could easily be album of the year so far. The second half of the album is amazing. There are some great songs in there and the sound is incredible. Call the police is a great track.
I only heard LCD Soundsystem about six months ago. I read the meet me in the bathroom book and was fascinated by this Murphy character, And the whole DFA story. I'd obviously heard their name before but never really listened to them.
I was amazed by his albums.the first songs as well are great. I'm losing my edge is a great song with great lyrics and context. The second album is perfect. Someone Great, All My Friends and Us vs Them is one of the best run of three songs on an album ever.
Great band and great album.

That's really fucking funny considering that I consider Sound of Silver one of the best produced albums (including mixing) of the last 10 years!

That's really fucking funny considering that I consider Sound of Silver one of the best produced albums (including mixing) of the last 10 years! It is. That why I was surprised when I saw on the back of the American Dream vinyl and then read into more and was also way surprised about Sound of Silver which really does sound amazing. I guess he does a good job with sound and is not a particularly creative producer. Also I'm pretty sure James Murphy runs a tighter shift than Noel and must of been heavily involved considering his obsession with sound.
