2007 official UK tour hello again - sorry to bother but theres a secret for me to tell you. for all those concerned ............ who are tired of being left behind, left in the dark, or just left with nothing to do ................ the tickets to the first public official Willy Mason UK tour go on sale this monday. this tour should be an interesting one. for the most part nice cozy venues, and this time i will have three musicians to help represent the upcoming album (along with any others we can sneak through customs). my brother SAM MASON ( myspace.com/youngerchild) will be with me again on the drums; NINA VIOLET (myspace.com/ninaviolet) will be back too, to sing, play viola, guitar, banjo, mandolin ... and even play a song or two of her own if you're lucky; and we will be introducing mike mackey on the bass guitar and maybe the occasional grunt or head bop. mike has played in bands with me in the past when we were in high school together, and has toured with the island band KAHOOTS ( myspace.com/kahoots). i'm pretty sure we've managed to keep all of the ticket prices within 10 and 15 quid, for all you students and otherwise tight-fisted hopefuls out there. Joe G the man of steel AKA mighty mouse will be giving you the detailed skinny below. hope you're well - willy Tickets on sale this Monday, January 29th at www.gigsandtours.com or by calling the number next to the tour date below. Willy Mason plays tiny London show The singer plays for just 100 fans
Willy Mason played a very intimate gig in London last night (February 22).
The singer and around a hundred fans squeezed into the tiny Soho record shop Sister Ray as he played 25 minutes of material from his new album.
As well as featuring tracks from 'If The Ocean Gets Rough' including 'We Can Be Strong' and 'Gotta Keep Walking', the night also saw him play 'Fear No Pain' and other fan favourites from his debut album 'Where The Humans Eat'.
However in usual maverick style Mason avoided playing current single 'Save Myself', though he did sign copies of it after the gig.
Instead he asked the audience what they wanted to hear, and played a string of fan requests, including 'Live It Up'.
Mason's second album 'If The Ocean Gets Rough' is released on March 5.

I saw him last night in Leicester, he was absolutely amazing. His songs (new and old) sound really fresh with Nina Violet on viola. He played a really long set, two encores: First one had live it up, end of the race and fear no pain. Second was just oxygen.
Not much banter with the crowd, but with songs as good as his, who cares?!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
BTW make sure you turn up early, the support act Elvis Perkins is really worth a watch.
