Green Day's performance was the best one on the show. Too bad they only get one award.

I saw em live a few months ago when they came to Philly. They were great. Covered Queen's 'We Are The Champions' which was very good as well.

i've been following green day since before dookie; to me, their first two albums are still much better than anything they've ever done, although nimrod and insomniac are pretty damn good. i dunno about american idiot...much better than i thought a concept record from green day would be, but i can't decide between enjoying them for what they've become, or hating the fact that they wouldn't be able to pull off the kind of music i love them for in the first place anymore.

and american idiot is only topped by dookie. you have to give them this though: they haven't been this popular for 10 years (you gotta remember the mudthrowing at woodstock 94)

Greatest guitarist? I respect the band, but I don't think using effects foot pedals nominates you for greatest guitarist of a generation.
