hey guys. i don't know how many of you buy your cd's anymore (i don't), but i have a great legal way to save money. go to your local library, borrow some cd's (if they have, which most now probably do), and then just copy them onto either another disc or onto your computer! smart, isn't it?

Yeah have done that a few times myself. Its also a good way of listening to a cd first to see if its any good before buying it!

That's not legal I'm afraid. And I prefer to buy the CDs too. An album isn't all about the music, it's a package.

I used to do that with cassettes, but now I'm just showing my age ;D

I usually get all the music I wouldn't pay for off Soulseek but I do this with albums where I need to see the art and get the whole experience but can't afford to buy them right away. I've done it with . . . The Beatles white album The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (quite a while ago for those two, mind) Beck - Midnite Vultures Ryan Adams - Gold New Order - Get Ready Chemical Brothers - Come With Us Morrissey - Suedehead, The Best Of

Yeah, you pretty much have to either drive a long distance or shop online if you want a good selection of CDs anymore. We had a big music store chain here in Michigan that had been running for decades and they had to shut all of them down because they weren't getting enough business.
