What I love doesn't mean that everyone else should love mine too. I didn't mean personally with my last post, so just ignore it.

When I was 13 or 14 I was a big fan of them. I learnt Don't Cry on the guitar when I was 12, one of the first "serious" songs I've ever learnt. I spent a whole day on it.
Now I don't really care about them nor I listen to them. But when Sweet Child 'O Mine is on I enjoy it.

I was always a big fan. Any reunion & I'll be there!
I know their back cataloge really but the Illusion albums were a big part of my childhood & I loved that era.
The song This I Love from the Chinese Democracy is my favorite of late.
Axl looks like shit these days too so the clock is ticking to decide!

Guns n Roses are kind of the American Oasis. I know the idea of an American oasis sounds Oxymoronic, with Oasis defined as they are by their Englishness. But Guns n Roses are the most American band I can think of, just as Oasis are the most English. And after that: hard rocking first album, more grandiose and ballad-oriented second album (counting Gn R lies as an Ep rather than an album btw) lead singer with an attitude and distinctive, one-of-a-kind rock and roll voice and a penchant for on/offstage melodrama, combative relationship between guitarist and lead singer, drastic line-up changes, songs being classic rock radio staples in their respective countries
And of course, the focus being placed on their earlier work, with their later achievements largely ignored in favour of nostalgia. And a reunion not being imminent

Appetite For Destruction is a guilty pleasure.
This band were fucking incredibly stupid though. Good musicians as a band by all means but Axl Rose's wailing cat being strangled voice for me is like nails scratching down a chalkboard . Fucking horrible voice.
They also dressed up in ways that would make Aerosmith blush.
Also the whole 10 minutes ballads thing on those Use Your Illusion albums ? No - just fuck off.
Its also hilarious how most of Axl's songs lyrics were often just dissing some "bitch" he jilted , dumped or whatever.
The Oasis and Guns N Roses comparison is just stupid IMO. For multiple reasons. But also Noel never wrote songs with lyrics such as "police and niggers get out of my way" or "Immigrants and faggots , They make no sense to me, They come to our country , And think they'll do as they please" ('One In A Million')
Puns N Poses were shit in general. With a complete wanker as a singer who would make Liam seem saint like in comparison.

Guns N Roses were good before Axl took over and created the version we have now. Regarding a reunion it would be pointless as Axl's voice as awful nowadays, its faded much worse than Liam's.
Slash & Myles Kennedy are good however.

00:47 tv.aftonbladet.se/abtv/articles/87561Yet to see the press pounce on this one. Rough write up: Interviewer: I heard you made friends with Axl Rose again, how was that possible after all these years?Slash: It was, it was, it was probably way overdue, you know, but uh, it's, it's very cool at this point, let some of that - dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long?Interviewer: So, will the Guns N' Roses ever perform together again?Slash: Oh, I couldn't answer that... [Chuckle]Interviewer: Why?Slash: Let's get off the subject, that's an old one.
Maybe it's some cheeky editing but no one on the GNR boards has been able to disprove it just yet.

But guns live Blows them off any stage Ad but true

Either way a good percentage of Guns N' Roses fans have been calling a reunion for like literally forever, no more so than the last year or so. Yeah, Welcome To The Jungle will almost certainly open the sets however I wouldn't be too surprised to hear It's So Easy every now and then. That'd be cool. 2016 is going to be messy.

On the serious side I'm wondering ...it's obvious slash and axle have made up ......but what will they do regarding Chinese democracy , and velvet revolver or snake pit Do they take the Van Halen route? And simply ignore the Hagar years ? I personally would have loved to have seen Dave sing why can't this be love , or summer nights ....I always thought those tunes had Dave written all over it Music wise I would love to hear axle take a crack at linger In my opinion the best tune by either Or slash put his spin on democracy. But I'm sure. It will be a Rolling Stones like set ........just the hits everyone wants. Either way. I'm stoked guns and fucking roses. Thank you

Thank you I'd imagine Snakepit and Velvet Revolver are long gone, unless these Kushner as a third guitarist rumours materialize. That said, Axl was always generous enough to allow NuGNR members to perform a solo song or two, so maybe this tradition will continue. Apart from itching my curiosity in regards to Axl singing a Velvet Revolver or solo song, I'm not too bothered actually. Chinese Democracy era songs are a far more tangible concern and I'd hazard a guess that a small handful may show up. Not only are they officially Guns N' Roses songs, but they're also the sole output of Axl's ~18 year stint at the reigns and to not include them may make Axl paranoid that he had failed. The Chinese Democracy song This I Love was written around 1993 so including that would be easy, but the rest... hmm. Maybe a few of the traditional GNR sounding ones may sneak out, but who knows. What I'm more concerned about is the mountain of unreleased material from '92-present day. Axl confirmed Chinese Democracy 2 was effectively finished last time he spoke to the media, so what on earth is happening to all that? I'm guessing it'll be repurposed as potential new material with Slash, Duff & co but I guess we'll see. Kimmel better be firing some good questions at him!

You know your stuff here is my take .....did you see the original van Halen reunion press conference in la ? Guns have enough hits with there original lineup ( or minus the drummer or like VH the bass player ). That they can play a three hour stadium show and just play there hits ...and like the stones everyone will be happy .....the difference between guns and the stones. ? The stones needed like 20 plus albums to amass a three hour setlist ......... Guns only needed one lp. One double lp and a ep And you could take all the rest and discard it , much like the stones did ....... I think that's the route they will take , heavy on appetite , I illusion , a little spaghetti incodiant. And bam you got your setlist and everyone wins

I wouldn't be too keen on a Guns 'n' Roses reunion as Axl's voice is 1000 times more shot than, for example, Liam's and he's even fatter than Liam was last summer. I don't think Axl would have the energy to do one of these shows some of us loved him for more than 20 years ago so fuck that.

Unfortunately I can't say I know anything about Van Halen or their reunion press conference, but I do know that whatever GNR are planning to do, it's gonna be huge. Just seeing Slash and Axl together is going to make something twitch - haha. Sure, there's more than enough quality for them to perform a greatest hits tour no problem whatsoever - It's what they do on top of that which is going to make it special for me. Absolutely buzzing for the interview. Unfortunately I think it's on at 4:30 in the morning here but I'll have to check properly. Literally couldn't be a worse time!
